Sway's command of his rebounds has taken a huge leap forward since last year. Kudos to BOB

2 great goalies realllly helps on the back to back.
I thought that maybe picking one and using the other to fill the many holes was the way to go.
Sweeney went with strength in goal and fill the rest from the veteran bin. So far so good. Theyve both covered for some cracks on D.

So Charlie gets his jaw broken (we think) and no call. Poitras gets pummeled and no call. Freddie gets the Juan Marechal treatment and no call. And yet...

I get what you’re saying, but that hit sucked and was called appropriately.

Nothing wrong with the hit on Poitras - penalties aren’t given out based on injury.
I've seen folks get called for less than on the Poitras hits -- but what about Charlie and Freddy? You see my point, right?

Pasta was just assessed a game misconduct based on injury. There was no contact with the head, Pasta kept his elbow tucked, and you could see Lindgren’s numbers throughout the entirety of the hit. That’s a minor for boarding and nothing more.

Agree with the Freddy hit - you need to be responsible for your stick. Missed the game Charlie got hurt so can’t comment on that one. No issue with the call on Pasta - my first thought when I saw it live was that he got his head, hence why I thought he’d get suspended. On replay he definitely got shoulder/numbers so no sussie but I’m OK with the game misconduct…he took a run at him and it was an inappropriate hit.

Does Sweeney or maybe Jacobs have the ear of anyone in the league office? I mean, damn, send Pasta off there, but the game? fuck that.
A major for boarding automatically triggers a game misconduct.

But in general, yes I think ownership and Neely need to work on their relationship with the league office in general with the way they are officiated, especially in the playoffs. Craig Berube wouldn’t have been able to dictate the officiating against an Yzerman led team.

There's a difference when a player(Pasta) could have done something not to cause the penalty. On both Poitras and McAvoy they were penalties within the play of hockey.

If you saw Monty arguing with the refs he kept saying the cut on his head was bullshit, so I would bet the refs told him the extra was due to the injury.

The hit on Freddie I was referring to was in the last game ve the Rangers, not this one, where Trouba took a baseball swing and hit Freddie in the head after the play had stopped. No call and I think there were grounds for a suspension

And nothing, correct? Zero response from the officials, yes? The swing was harder than Brashear’s on whichever Red Wing that was that went down and concussed themselves on the ice. Criminy.

I know, hence the “you need to be responsible for your stick.” Trouba should have been given a penalty + suspended for that, even if I don’t think it was intentional.
