Our last 4 games have gone to OT. We haven't had a regulation win since my first Game Thread 2 weeks ago.

I like points, and 3 on 3 is fun to watch, but an ass kicking would be nice.

Let's put some grease in the frying pan! 8 PM face off.

Just tuned in, less energy but man this just so much better without Jack and I feel awful for him typing that
Where is Jack? Is it just time off for the holidays? I know there is a lot of speculation about his health so just wondering if anything was ever said about his absence...I have not seen anything but missed pre-game

Just a break is all they have said.

He announced that he was missing a few games. Didn’t say why.

He mentioned he was taking a couple games off last broadcast, so not something unplanned. I would guess it's for the holidays, plus NESN I bet wants to see the reception of another person with Brick. The more I listen the more bleh this guy is, but at the same time a coherent broadcast is worth that downgrade

In the 1000's of games I've played, I've never heard someone use the term "apples" for assists. FanDuel being annoying trying to make it a thing or is it something I've just somehow avoided?

edit same with the "wall of pillows"

The most optimistic take I have is that this game is following a familiar script: a sleepy, discombobulated Bruins team is kept in it by a little luck and a whole lot of Sway to be followed by a strong second and third period. Or so I hope, mainly because I really do not wish to be forced to join the holiday "festivities" going on downstairs (although there is eggnog of the rum variety -- thankfully).

I am liking how Frederick has been able to get to the front of the net when the puck is nearby. Sometimes by carrying in and making a shot. Sometimes by just hanging out and being there for the rebound.

I've heard the term apples for assists since I started playing in the 80's.

Wall of pillows I've never heard before though

It’s literally every game. Can’t wait for the late lead that gets blown for the inevitable OTL

Interesting. I played with a lot of Midwest D1 people, and I thought they had every random hockey term there is because it was like 30% of their vocabulary, but I guess never being on the bench I might miss it

My fault guys. I dropped Vilardi in fantasy last week so of course he’s on a tear. I’m dropping DeBrusk tomorrow so look out.
