that 1/5 high pick and roll with Porzingis and White in crunch time is very effective. It opens up the floor for everyone.

This Detroit team looks far better than their record. How the fuck did they lose so many in a row?

Tatum never had it going offensively but….31 points plus 7 rebounds 10 Dimes 5 steals isn’t bad

I am interested to see what happens with the C's when the calendar turns and if Tatum has his typical second half leveling up.

All I can think of is that line from Kevin McHale in the ‘86 Celtics documentary; “Come on, we gotta go to overtime to beat these dudes?”

I didn’t know that Joe Harris was on the Pistons. After shooting 40% or higher from three in six consecutive seasons in Brooklyn, he goes to Detroit and shoots 29% from deep.in inconsistent minutes

As the game thread noted.. he was awful today. only had 31 points on 11/31 (obv not great) with 7/8 FTs, 10 assists, 8 rebounds and 5 steals.

With the 28th consecutive loss tonight by the Pistons, the only longer such streak in North American professional sports, among the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL? 29, by the Chicago Cardinals, from 1942-1945.

However, in 1875 Brooklyn of the National Association lost 31 consecutive games. MLB does not consider this official.

Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?

Shot 29% from three, out-rebounded by 14, 2 fewer assists, took 2 fewer shots ... that's basically how you lose, but they won!

Only 12 TOs to Pistons 18 saved them, along with 9 extra made free throws.

They are a mirror image of the Spurs of a month ago when they were competing hard every night and everyone asking same question. Then they got their win and reverted back to playing careless and uninspired basketball which got them to that point. Pistons are sitting on a win espeically now that Duren is back.

Games like this demonstrate how important health will be for this team's playoff chances. You'd think that they have plenty of weapons, can survive without Brown. But the team looked disjointed, especially when Queta was out there with another big. Bumping everybody up a spot in rotation exposes some cracks.

Can't read too much into one game, but Brown is so effective in games like this one. He was missed hugely.

Tatum player of the game, nice gag NBCSN

31 points on 31 shots is uh... not good really
Sure, but it’s not a “most efficient scorer of the game” award. The 7 rebounds, 10 assists, and 5 steals matter too. They could’ve given it to Porzingis instead, but it’s hard to argue Tatum isn’t deserving despite the bad shooting game.

31 8 and 10, with 5 steals for JT. He missed nine of 11 from three and 10 of 20 from two. He played solid defense. Besides bad long-distance shooting he had a good game.
