Nick Nurse’s entire presser tonight will be about the FT disparity
This is what basically every Heat game would look like if the refs called everything.. pretty rare that so much of the contact is called.

Is Tillman still hurt? Kind of weird he’s not seeing the floor even now

Cam Payne just stopped on the sideline to yell at a fan during a play?

Here
Whatever he said will be on Twitter soon, and I have a feeling it will not be good and lead to THAT conversation again.

Tatum is really reaching a high level of understanding as to when and where to pick his spots to penetrate and find the daylight or foul.

As a rookie he would take off from way far out and glide to the rim. It was majestic but easily blocked once guys figured it out. Now he has the mix of strength, savvy, shiftiness, and power to navigate whole defenses until he is at the rim for a wide open dunk or lay-in. Fun to watch.

Ok, I didn't realize the host on the left of the TNT show has a little box for his feet because he's so much shorter and I can't unsee it

I feel like I remember them all having clear boxes to put there feet on, no?
Yup, I just never noticed, and it's not his fault sitting with basketball players, but it just looks really funny. It being clear also makes it look like a kid sitting in a high chair

Maxey is the kind of player who would be averaging like, 19 ppg if this was ten years ago and the stats were not totally inflated.

An odd game. The Celtics hit just five threes and Philadelphia hung around for a good while and then suddenly the Celtics were up by 16 with 4 minutes left.

Philadelphia just didn’t have the horses. Maxey was basically a one man show and it wasn’t nearly enough. It felt like Mo Bamba was on the floor for 30 minutes which is far more than he should play. Tobias Harris is overpaid and seemed to consistently under deliver. There was a 76ers fan a couple of seats down from me and every time Harris or Bamba touched the ball the poor guy went into a vituperative tirade.

Good win despite low energy for Boston for basically 3+ quarters. It is mid February though and it doesn’t feel right to complain about an 18 point win against a potential playoff opponent. On to Dallas.

edit - also fuck Kyle Lowry

There have been a number of games this season where the game is close in the second quarter and then it just isn't. The C's have a way of clamping down when they need to..and it's also hard for other teams to keep up with them when their offense is rolling... you have to basically play perfect basketball to keep up most of the time.

Agreed, and I'm complete fine with the approach they take. No reason to go all out in the first half, plenty of basketball left. It's like they mess around until mid 3rd/early 4th, then just decide to put the game out of reach in a 5-7 minute span. Great way to play, mid winter games, don't wear yourself out

I think other teams also just don't usually have the ability to play that hard for four quarters. With all of the lineups the C's run out there they can have two or three of the top guys resting while the other team has to run against the bench to keep up.
Fun team to watch.. you can tell how good they are just by how the game threads have basically gone bezerk any time the game stays close well into the third quarter.
