2014 Buffalo Bills: Neckbeard to the rescue?!

The Bills estimate they will need to remove 220,000 tons of snow to clear the stadium for Sunday's game. The team is seeking at least 500 fans -- working on three shifts -- to shovel out the stadium. In return, the Bills will pay fans $10 per hour and offer free game tickets.

Its a moot point, and I'm sure there are technical issues I don't understand, but doesn't the crew at TD Garden switch from ice to parque in 3 hours?

The Carrier Dome said they could've switched things over to a football configuration. But apparently the NFL nixed the idea of playing there because the communicatins infrastructure isn't up to code for NFL replay and booth/sideline communications.

Francesa said something about that today. Made it seem like the tv people roll three trucks In, connect a few cables and they are all set.

You've gotta assume the snow shovelers will be offered that ticket for a future game IN Buffalo, right? Otherwise, kind of a rocky, if not dickish, start to the new regime.

Putting some wood flood down on top of ice is a bit different than completely removing a hockey rink.

Cuse says they could have been ready. It would've just taken more effort to negotiate concessions and other money coming in to have it in a non NFL stadium. But for the sake of Bills fans, I think it would have been better to keep the game in upstate NY

They could have made the Carrier Dome work for Monday night. I'm not sure why the TV infrastructure should have been a deciding factor - this game wasn't going to be a national broadcast, was it?

move it to foxboro.
This isn't getting enough discussion. It would have been epic. A free Jets vs. Bills game in Foxborough? Add in half price beers and you've got an unprecedented situation where both teams are fearing for their lives.

A game in Foxboro would be 70% jets fans, I think.
With free admission and half price beer, what percentage would be Pats fans?

Edit: Oops, no one said anything about free tix. You are right, at least 70% Jets fans. But empty seats might be the largest group.

With an enormous amount of labor literally hammering at that ice from the moment the last horn sounded at the hockey game, it could have been possible to get it out - but I wouldn't want to be the guy responsible for making it happen.
