LA-Lafayette now up 3-0 on Miss State, as they enjoyed a nice top of the 3rd with plenty of help from the Bulldogs' pitching staff, including starter Lucas Laster who didn't make it out of the inning. After a walk to Mike Strentz and an advancing ground-out, Jace Conrad singled him in. Laster issued two more free passes to load the bases, prompting his exit. Reliever Jake Lindgren's first order of business was to uncork a wild pitch, scoring Conrad. After the 4th walk of the frame, another wild pitch scored Blake Trahan. UL-L senior lefty Ryan Wilson now has a cushion to work with.

They're knotted 2-2 with the Rebs batting in the t-8th, men on 1st & 2nd with 2 outs.

EDIT - Huskies RHP Adam Nesbitt gets the lefty-hitting J.B. Woodman swinging on a nasty slider that fell off the end of a table when it reached home plate. On to the b-8th.

A 1-2-3 top of the 9th for Nesbitt, and the Huskies bats are up in the bottom half. A reminder that Washington needs to win twice today.

EDIT - Scott Weathersby has been nails since coming on to quell a U-W rally in the b-5th, working 4.2 shutout innings (2 H, 1 BB, 5 Ks). The Huskies get a runner to 2nd in the bottom of the 9th, but don't score. Yet another extra-inning game on tap for this year's tournament.

The Cajuns add another in the t-4th as Strentz brings home Seth Harrison on a safety squeeze bunt. It's 4-0 LA-Lafayette in the b-4th.

After a 2-out walk in the t-10th, the Huskies change pitchers with RHP Trevor Dunlap replacing Nesbitt. He throws a strike down in the zone, just where MSU's Sikes Orvis likes it, and he rips it down the RF line into the corner where Brian Wolfe had trouble picking it up. It goes for an RBI triple and the Bulldogs take a 2-1 lead. Dunlap gets the next batter, but the damage is done and it'll be do-or-die for his teammates in the bottom half.

The Horns take a 2-1 lead on an unearned run in the b-4th as Zane Gurwitz reaches on an error on a grounder to Aggies 3B Logan Nottebrook, allowing Madison Carter to score from 3rd.

After 1-out singles by LSU's Alex Bregman & Jake Fraley in the t-1st, they pull the double steal to move into scoring position. Sean McMullen doubles them home, and the Tigers grab an early 2-0 lead on Houston.

The Cougars have their first two batters on in the bottom half with an HBP (Kyle Survance) and a walk (Mike Pyeatt).

Scott Weathersby allows a 1-out walk, but he gets Trevor Mitsui swinging to end it. Mississippi State wins 3-2 and advances to the Super Regionals -- just the second SEC team to do so despite having 10 teams in the field. They'll either play at LA-Lafayette or host Mississippi State.

A walk loads the bases, and LSU starter Alden Cartwright is pulled before retiring a single batter. Parker Bugg on in relief and Frankie Ratcliff drives home Survance on a sac fly. Still 2 on, 1 out for the Cougars.

EDIT - Caleb Barker catches the Tigers by surprise with a squeeze bunt that scores Pyeatt from 3rd, tying the game 2-2. The Cougars are still hitless.

With Matt Kent on to pitch the b-6th for the Aggies, Texas loads the bases with 2 out on a pair of infield singles and an HBP. But Ben Johnson lines out to short to end the threat, and Kent & the Aggies escape.

The Longhorns add another one in the b-7th. After a pair of walks (the 4th & 5th issued by Aggies pitching tonight), C.J. Hinojosa doubles home Mark Payton. Still 2nd & 3rd for Texas, now leading 3-1, as the Aggies bring on their third pitcher of the inning in sophomore lefty Ty Schlottmann

Indiana up on Stanford 3-0, but they're in a weather delay in the middle of the 3rd with the Cardinal due up. The Hoosiers get a Craig Dedelow RBI single in the t-2nd, and a 2-run shot to LF by Kyle Schwarber scoring Tim O'Conner ahead of him in the t-3rd.

Senior lefty Brian Korte on the hill for Indiana. Sophomore southpaw Logan James started for Stanford and worked 2+ innings (2 ER, 1 H, 3 BB, 3 K), but after walking O'Conner to start the 3rd he was pulled in favor of sophomore righty Marc Brakeman who yielded the HR.

They've resumed play and the Cardinal have gotten two back in the b-3rd. Alex Blandino singled home Tommy Edman, and Zach Hoffpauir knocked in Kenny Diekroger with an infield hit. It's 3-2 Hoosiers as they come up in the t-4th.

Assuming Houston hangs on, it'll be interesting to see if the committee awards them the Super Regional hosting privilege for knocking out a national seed, or if they simply default to having the Longhorns host just because they're the Longhorns.

Alex Bregman singled for LSU to lead off the t-8th. That's the first hit for the Tigers since the 2nd inning.

EDIT - A 1-out single by Sean McMullen is followed by a grounder that hits Bregman in the leg, making him automatically out. A wild pitch puts runners at 2nd & 3rd, but Tyler Moore grounds out to end the inning.

Jared Robinson has pitched 5.1 innings of stellar shutout relief for the Cougars (3 H, 1 BB, 6 K on 84 pitches).

That crowd could not have sounded more deflated... it's really weird having the local team be the "away" team, it's not often you have a walk-off hit that the crowd is almost completely against.

This Stanford team seems worse talent-wise than some of their better teams over the past few years, but the comebacks the past two days have been remarkable

Last ups for LSU, now trailing 12-2. Robinson back on the hill to close it out for the Cougars

EDIT - Pinch hitter Chris Sciambra goes down swinging.

EDIT - Pinch hitter Jared Foster also strikes out swinging, but he's safe at first on a wild pitch.

EDIT - Now a Christian Ibarra bloop single. Come on, kid, just end this thing already.

EDIT - Out at 2nd on a fielder's choice. One more to go, and it's Bregman...

EDIT - A fly out to center ends it. Houston heads to the Supers. LSU is toast.

Oregon State took a 1-0 lead in the t-3rd, but Irvine tied it in the b-5th, took a 2-run lead in the b-6th, and tacked on another in the b-7th. They're up 4-1 with OSU batting in the t-8th. Andrew Morales threw 59 pitches over 4.1 innings (1 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 5 K), and Evan Manarino has backed him up splendidly in relief (3.1 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K).

EDIT - A pinch-hit 2-out triple by Nick Rulli for the Beavers. Just the 5th hit of the night for OSU. Meat of the order due up (Conforto, Davis, Keyes).

EDIT - Conforto walks, and Irvine will bring in freshman righty Mitch Merten to try and put out the fire as the tying run comes to the plate.

EDIT - A wild pitch scores Rulli as Conforto takes 2nd. Irvine's lead shrinks to 4-2.

EDIT - Dylan Davis sends one to the warning track in deepest CF, but it's the 3rd out. On to the b-8th (UCI is the home team).

EDIT - Irvine down in order in the b-8th. On to OSU's last chance in the t-9th.

Elliott Surrey on in relief for Irvine to close it out. Kavin Keyes, Gabe Clark & Logan Ice due up for the Beavers.

EDIT - A short fly drops in shallow center for a Keyes single. Tying run coming to the plate.

EDIT - Clark flies out to left. That pitch was a meatball, and I'm sure he regrets not giving it a better ride.

EDIT - A walk to Ice. Tying run aboard. The #8 hitter Caleb Hamilton coming up.

EDIT - Hamilton grounds into a 6-4-3 DP to end it. The top overall seed is done for the year. UC-Irvine heads to the Super Regionals in Stillwater vs Oklahoma State.

Oregon State's elimination leaves just Stanford left from the Pacific-12 Conference. Last 2 CWS champs came from Pac-12 (UCLA, Arizona).

 Rob Anderson ‏@_robanderson  2m
One more reminder. 8 of the last 10 CWS champs were not national seeds.

 Rob Anderson ‏@_robanderson  2m
We are guaranteed at least 1 unseeded team in CWS Finals. All 4 seeded teams on 'left' side of bracket have been eliminated.

 Rob Anderson ‏@_robanderson  2m
The only national seeds left are 3) Virginia, 6) Louisiana-Lafayette and 7) TCU. The No. 6 nor No. 7 overall seed has never won a CWS.

Rob Anderson ‏@_robanderson  3m
Oregon State is just second No. 1 overall seed to not make CWS in last 11 years, joining 2007 Vanderbilt club, which also lost in Regionals.

 Rob Anderson ‏@_robanderson  3m
Oregon State's elimination marks 15th straight year No. 1 overall seed will not win the CWS. Last to do so was Miami (Fla.) in 1999.

Here's the Super Regionals bracket. Official hosting announcements won't be made until tomorrow, but all the national seeds and regional hosts are listed on top. So I assume they've decided Texas is hosting Houston. Which is bullshit, but I expected it.
