The end of the first half is what has to haunt the Cowboys more than the Dez play. That shit-show chain of events of what looked to be a sure 3 points (and possibly 7) turning into a Packers FG (and zero for Dallas) was what started the ball rolling. I feel like if the Cowboys go into halftime up 17-7 (and possibly 21-7), they open it up in the 3rd quarter and don't look back.
Of course, that chain of events could have been overcome with the fumble-recovery-that-wasn't after they took a 21-13 lead or the Demarco Murray run which looked like it was a sure TD but he let a desperation punch at the ball by Peppers knock the ball loose. It actually is quite amazing how many terrible breaks the Cowboys got and they still almost won. Really the only "break" the Cowboys got the entire game seemed to be the PI call against Terrence Williams that set them up at the one yard line. They possibly could have let that one go, but it wasn't an obvious no-call either. Oh, and the Romo fumble that was recovered by Dallas early in the game.
But it felt like Dallas was the better team being handicapped playing the road and getting a lot of bad breaks against them. It was a strong showing to finish a very good season. Probably the most impressive part of their season was how strong they finished when all the pundits started the "same old December Cowboys coming" rhetoric after the Thanksgiving Game disaster against the Eagles. They wouldn't lose another game until yesterday after that.
