I love his toughness and he is NBA ready, especially on D. Well spoken, too.

I would have loved if Embiid slipped, but this is a fantastic pick/fit at #6. Boston's a few years away from competing, so drafting Smart and dealing Rondo makes good sense. He's smart, super tough, and a 2-way player. We're going to love this kid.

Same here. Smart might be very good, but feels like the real elite guys were four or five deep
I don't see a big difference between Smart and Gordon to be honest.

How does this guy go over Payton?

They play different positions and have entirely different skill-sets?
He;s a shooter/scorer and a 2. Payton is a defensive 1.

IF Charlotte takes McDermott (not a spoiler I'm just making a guess) will he get compared to anyone who is not white?

I love the Smart pick. Having watched Dragic and Bledsoe all season, I'd love to see a two PG set with Rondo and Smart in Boston.

While I agree with this in principle, as a direction the NBA is headed, I'm more optimistic in that this means Ainge is committed to getting rid of Rondo.

It's either Rondo or AB because they can't pay that much for three guards, right?

A good-pass, no-shoot backcourt? Dragic and Bledsoe can both score.

Rondo is on the move very soon.

Can we add NO SPOILERS! to the thread title? It might help with the morons.
I'm a bit confused here. What is this thread for other than to discuss the ongoing draft? 95% of the posts since the draft started could be considered spoilers...

It means no posting picks before they are announced on TV.

Don't announce the pick before ESPN.  It's simple.

No posting tweets that spoil the pick before it's actually announced.

If you don't realize that the picks are tweeted before ESPN broadcasts them I don't know what to tell you.

No picks in here until they're on ESPN.

Wonder if it's something that stretches back to his local days in high school.  Worried he might hook up with "the old crowd?"  I don't know
I never saw any "character issues" at IU ...

Wow. I don't see that at all. Odd. RT @MikeAScotto Source: Boston Celtics passed on Noah Vonleh partly due to character concerns. #NBADraft

Woj had said Philly was considering Saric.  Would have killed their playoff hopes.
