So leaving aside the ridiculous chip. The other 3 goals were all off terrible plays by the same CB.

California. Duh.
I started to post this before the 3rd and 4th goals came back-to-back, but I can only assume Japan is having a miserable time with the sun. They normally aren't anywhere near this bad defensively.

We tried to be fair and played the first 2 in on the ground.

And before that 2nd goal went in, there was a hand ball too.

The sun being an issue would make some sense. I can't figure out why the keeper was so far out but maybe she couldn't see. Also might explain the awful clearing header

Hey it worked perfectly for her. Lloyd was the worst player on the field against Sweden.

Considering Lloyd is going to get WotM in the World Cup Final that Pia is watching...I wouldn't say....perfect.

Pia probably should have talked shit about more German players.

I mean yeah, the sun is pretty brutal, but it's not like 2 of Lloyd's goals and Holliday's goal came when they were marked and the keeper lost in the sun.

Or worried more about actually beating the US or Australia (or Nigeria) than trying to play Junior Mourinho.  .

US is just much quicker to the ball and far more precise right now.   Thats not the sun, though I am sure it had some effect.

Unfortunately for Japan, the US won't have to suffer from the sun in the second half.  The organizers should have played the game at a different time, or a different stadium.

The sun doesn't stop you from picking up the opponent's best goal scorer while she runs freely through the box.

Don't let this become 4-2 before the half.
