Guess my post from last night got lost.

I am happy for Walker. Always great to see a journeyman rise. He has a 13 year pro career entering 2014, and at that point had made 6 majors, making the cut twice. Then he had a big 2014 with 3 top 10s. Now the somewhat out of nowhere PGA championship. Good for him.

One thing I hated was the crowd chanting USA at the end of the tourney. I think it was only maybe 20% of the crowd doing it, but still I don't et it

Pretty crazy Stenson plays with an 8 year old three wood.
There are a few old clubs in tour bags. Not many but these guys have their binkies. I recently saw a Tom Lehman quote about carrying an old Taylor Made 540 (I think) because the new drivers do little or nothing for him since he rarely misses the sweet spot.

Old irons, especially Pings, have had serious longevity. IIRC the last sets of Eye 2s and i3 blades disappeared recently.

Yeah, I played my own sets of Ping Eye 2s for nearly 15 years, only changing to the i5s around two years ago.

Meanwhile, who'd have thought yesterday morning that service at SoSH would be interrupted yesterday but not the action at Baltusrol? I can't believe they finished the tournament on time...just as well it wasn't a matchplay event, eh? (ducking)

So, because of the rules I am quite sure the answer is Yes, but I was wondering near the end of last night.

Light was failing as the last couple groups were finishing. Is a flashlight / lantern etc use banned by golf rules?

I'm not sure if he still carries it, but a few years ago I remember reading a story about Fred Couples. (I'm drawing off memory here, so don't shoot me over details). Basically, he went down to see Tom Watson to get some putting tips and hit balls with him. Tom ended up taking him fishing, hunting, anything but play golf. Couples went to leave after. A few days and in Watson's garage, he saw his wife's clubs and asked if he could take her driver because he liked he look of it. He used that as his 3W for years and years. I think Couples talked about it when he got inducted to the HoF. I'll look for a link.
