My thoughts are that short of Slater/Ebner/Edelman it's a very fungible role.Really what are your thoughts about Bolden's special teams contributions? Since that is why he is on the team after all.
Dobson sure he sucks.
You know who doesn't agree with you? Bill Belichick. My thoughts are that short of Slater/Ebner/Edelman it's a very fungible role.
That's only because they get the focus and/or have roles that are easier understood. My thoughts are that short of Slater/Ebner/Edelman it's a very fungible role.
No.Call me crazy but does that Bennett fumble put him on the bubble? We all know that Belichick hates fumbles more than anything else. I certainly hope not but he always makes some type of surprise move that makes everyone say in Bill We Trust.
Then again if that was the case I don't think he would be cut week 4.

I was just coming to post the opposite. I think Dobson gets cut regardless of the Martin and Mitchell injuries. There are several guys who seem to have special teams value that I bet the Pats would like to hang on to, at least while other rosters and practice squads are being churned/finalized.Right now it looks like Amendola is going to start on PUP. Mitchell is still working back from an elbow injury. Martin hurt his ankle last night. If those three guys are not ready to play week 1 and Dobson is cut then the only healthy WRs on the roster would be Edelman and Hogan. They are not going to go into a game with only two WRs.
If Martin's ankle injury is serious then Dobson may have just found his way onto the team. Which would kind of suck because they would have to make a cut somewhere else to make the numbers work and there are already going to be some tough cuts at other positions.
I picture Rocky IV when thinking of Brady in Montana while suspendedWho gets cut and goes to LA or Montana and practices with Brady for a month?
LA would definitely be more like Rocky III, which means his sprinting ability at the end of his four games is gonna be great.I picture Rocky IV when thinking of Brady in Montana while suspended
Only if he washes Brady's legs in the showerIf you keep saying stuff like that, he's gonna get a restraining order.
Wow, what an awful week for Joe Vellano.

Former Patriots DL Joe Vellano lost his home Thurs in a fire, was cut Sat, signed with Falcons practice squad today, per @seanstellato.
TJ Yates, come on down!Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 41s41 seconds ago
The #Patriots are releasing DT Anthony Johnson today, source said. So there is a roster spot available.
This is a tweak to the DL depth to give them some more beef up front for this week. Johnson has PS eligibility so hoping he sneaks through.Mike Reiss @MikeReiss 6m6 minutes ago
With open roster spot from waiving DT Anthony Johnson, the Patriots are signing DT John Hughes (Browns), per @FieldYates. 6-2, 320. Big man.
Hmm what do we know about him
Perhaps a result of the Brady and Nink suspensions where they don't count against the 53 man roster while suspended. Is it just me or has this season been remarkably quiet and stable not only on the PS but also the bottom 2-4 spots on the 53? It seems like most years, Ross Ventrone alone would have seen more transactions than the entire team so far.
Yes. In fact, this is the first roster move of any kind this year.Is it just me or has this season been remarkably quiet and stable not only on the PS but also the bottom 2-4 spots on the 53? It seems like most years, Ross Ventrone alone would have seen more transactions than the entire team so far.
It's surprising because it's inaccurate. Those 14 have all had stints in NE (many on the practice squad only, or very brief stretches), but Mingo and Sheard are the only guys currently on the 53-man (Lewis on the PUP).I had noticed that we had a lot of Browns cast offs, but realizing it was roughly a third of the team- from one Browns' year- surprised the hell out of me.

Link's broken, at least for me...
He didn't practice Thursday or Friday and was spotted in the locker room on crutches. Maybe that's all just a ploy, but I'm inclined to think he's actually hurt.Scruggs going on IR seems awfully convenient, dolike a esn't it?
I imagine the upcoming bye week may prove interesting. As I recall, that is often when in-season contract extensions happen. The Triad of Hightower, Collins and the quickly emerging Roberts could be an incredible LB core for this season. The jury is still out on Roberts as he's still learning, but dear lord he was everywhere making plays including a key 3rd down batted down pass. It will be interesting to see how this plays into the Collins/Hightower/Butler renegotiation. Having 3 great/elite LB's in today's NFL would be amazing, very excited to see how this develops this year and hope that the three are able to get on the field together soon. The blitz packages could be fun to watch evolve.
#Patriots RB Dion Lewis (knee) expected back at practice this week, source said, starting his 21-day window for activation. He's doing well
I think the writing was on the wall for this when they promoted Tyler Gaffney (who had only been on the PS for like two weeks) over Sankey (who'd been on the PS all season).Chiefs signed Bishop Sankey off the practice squad.
