He’d be PS eligible right? Yeah, that wouldn’t be a bad idea.Anyone want to kick the tires on Davis Webb? Released by the Giants.

If the Pats need some information on Davis Webb, they can just call their new WR, Chad Hansen into the office and find out everything they need to know. LOL Hansen caught 92 balls from Webb in their final season at Cal before they got drafted together. He’d be PS eligible right? Yeah, that wouldn’t be a bad idea.
Release was a surprise.Anyone want to kick the tires on Davis Webb? Released by the Giants.
Webb or Paxton Lynch?Anyone want to kick the tires on Davis Webb? Released by the Giants.
Yeah, he changed from 30 to 21 at the beginning of camp or earlier this spring to allow Jason McCourty to take 30.The roster on the Pats web site shows Duron Harmon as #21. Interesting. I didn’t know he made that switch, but maybe I’ve been living under a rock.
Let’s hope Belichick doesn’t instinctively bench HarmonYeah, he changed from 30 to 21 at the beginning of camp or earlier this spring to allow Jason McCourty to take 30.

RB Brandon Bolden is in Miami preparing to sign with the Dolphins, per a source. It was a productive run for Bolden with the Patriots as he made the team as an undrafted free agent in 2012 out of Mississippi and emerged as a leader among the RB group and on the field as a core special teamer. He grew a lot as a person over that time. One can see why Adam Gase would value his presence in Miami locker room.
I’m going to miss whining about his insignificant carries. From a ST standpoint, this is a real loss for us.Reiss reports that Bolden won't be back after all -- headed to the Fish...
Just a quick note from a Fin’s perspective:Reiss reports that Bolden won't be back after all -- headed to the Fish...
Per Schefter: Patriots’ LT Trent Brown has an excused absence; he will return Wednesday and play Sunday, per source.Goodie, sounds like Trent Brown got hurt!
So sick of this injury shit. Every freaking year!Duke Dawson to IR and Riley McCarron signed to the 53-man roster. Dawson is a candidate to come back after 8 weeks.
Source: the Patriots have placed second-round CB Duke Dawson (hamstring) on injured reserve and signed WR Riley McCarron from the practice squad.
5 of 9 draft picks are on IR and Sony Michel's knee is less than ideal. So sick of this injury shit. Every freaking year!
So sick of drafting players from GainesvilleSo sick of this injury shit. Every freaking year!
Yup. But when players represent value at your draft position due to injury questions, this is gonna happen. Sometimes it works out and you get Gronk. Many times you get Dominique EasleySo sick of this injury shit. Every freaking year!
Two years in a row at least that 2 of the top 3 picks are injured. Frustrating. So sick of this injury shit. Every freaking year!
Yes but not an issue with the guys we drafted this year who are on IR--Dawson and Wynn weren't hurt much in college.Yup. But when players represent value at your draft position due to injury questions, this is gonna happen. Sometimes it works out and you get Gronk. Many times you get Dominique Easley
I think that's been true of just about any position player that has been cut by the Pats.I cant recall the Pat's ever having a guy that was cut at WR and then became a legit top 2 or 3 contributor at the position. They usually judge the spot better than that.
Darius Butler found some success in Indy. CB has been an up and down position since then.I think that's been true of just about any position player that has been cut by the Pats.
They've had a few players depart via free agency or trade that have had some success: TE David Thomas had a couple of nice seasons for the Saints. Deion Branch was decent for Seattle, but was never quite a successful there as either of his two stints in New England. Adam Vinateri (dome factor alert), Asante Samuel (one of Belichick's few mistakes, IMO), Richard Seymour (Nate Solder was the return), Chandler Jones are probably the most notable. The Jones trade could haunt them, but I'm not sure they beat the Falcons without Mitchell. I struggle to recall any others whose departure really impacted them.
Thanks. That's one I definitely missed. Of course, he was replaced by Gronk/Hernandez in 2010, so he tends to get forgotten.Does Ben Watson count? Obviously he wasn't cut and is a TE but he's gone on to have a pretty productive career.
Troy Brown?I specifically meant (and mischaracterized above, my bad) a player cut BY the Pats who returned and became any good with the Pats. There have been many in this role but all have been role players at very best, in most cases complete non factors.
Like...regarding McCarron, I dont expect to see ANYTHING of impactful value because if there was anything there he would not have been cut. To me, he's a warm body to bide time till others get healthy
Figure a RB, WR, and OL are likely additions. You’d think Webb would already be up if they liked him enough.3 open roster spots. Corey Coleman, Kendall Wright, Dez possible additions?
Situational footballMcCarron. Damn. One mistake.
Didn't he turn down $7 million from Ravens? He'd get nowhere near that from NE.I know people are leary of Dez and his attitude and route running, but if he’d be willing to come in, play nice with others and embrace his role as mostly a red zone presence I don’t see why not give it a try. Him and Gronk would terrorize opposing Ds. Very big IF though
I don’t think money will matter to him if NE comes calling.Didn't he turn down $7 million from Ravens? He'd get nowhere near that from NE.
I know he has. My point is he might be thinking they're going to pay a little more than $1 million. The Ravens aren't a horrible organization (except to us). It's not like turning down the Browns.I don’t think money will matter to him if NE comes calling.
For the past few weeks he has been tweeting/instagramming about his love for Brady/pats. Almost like he is begging for the pats to rech out.
Yes, he didn’t want to be tethered to a 3-year contract. He wanted a one-year make good. That was then, this is now.Didn't he turn down $7 million from Ravens? He'd get nowhere near that from NE.
