This, exactly. Time of possession, yards, every metric the Pats were better. If not for a couple of successful heaves, the game wouldn't have been close. That was an ass kicking even though the scoreboard didn’t reflect it
Came here to post basically this.Josh called a near perfect game and Brady executed a near perfect game.
Even Newhouse played well when Cannon went down. That was encouraging.O-line seems to be making some strides
they seemed to control the line and gave TB12 some more time
give the boys huge fucking steaks
I get the mistrust of Newhouse, but he was good today. Got out there on a bunch of successful screens, beautiful job sealing off the second level on a key 8-yard run by Sony near the end, gave up no sacks. I’m not betting he can keep it up all the way through the Super Bowl, sure hope Cannon isn’t hurt too bad, but great to know Newhouse has the potential to keep the ship afloat. Also no game ball for Newhouse and Cannon (for getting hurt and having Newhouse in the game) Not fair I know
Apparently it takes about 5 years to fall off it. That's a hell of a cliff.I know the dynasty is over and the AFC East is wide open and Brady is way over the cliff but...
A noble spirit embiggens the smallest (line)man.Brady was amazing, and Sony was a breath of fresh air, and Edelman was heroic....but three offbeat picks...
1.) Lawrence Guy was great against the run and great against the pass.
2.) I thought Newhouse most mostly cromulent and occasionally very very good on screens and some run plays.
3.) NICK FOLK KICKED A 51-YARD FIELD GOAL. THAT WAS BADLY NEEDED!
It’s a gentle cliff that results in 4 SB appearances and 3 wins. You know, the kind of cliff that every other NFL franchise would kill for the career of any one of their quarterbacks, even if it were only 5 years.Apparently it takes about 5 years to fall off it. That's a hell of a cliff.
So dreamy. It's like looking at a young John Wayne.
Easier to play action when you are running effectively. The GOAT.
Did it look like they were selling the play-actions differently today? Brady really seemed to lean into them.
Also, they figured something out with the screen game.
This seems harsh. The Pats had already fumbled once. Protecting the ball is job #1.I’ll add another one I’m sure nobody else will mention: here’s one for the referees.
I think a few of the calls that generated a lot of grumbling in the game thread were actually good, or at least not terrible, calls:
1.) The first down Sanu didn’t get because he couldn’t be bothered to try.
pretty sure he was the only offensive skill player to not have a catch today (not counting slater), great offensive balance all dayGreat win. Brady. Sony. Folk. Eds. Guy. Rook WRs. TEs in the mix. Tons of contributions. Josh called a great game.
Is Dorsett still on the team?
