They also lost Stephen Nelson, probably the best CB in a pretty mediocre group, along with Orlando Scandrick, who is a JAG but at least started seven games for them at CB. Their CB depth chart is a brutal list of "Who????" guys: Charvarius Ward, Kendall Fuller, Bashaud Breeland, Keath Reaser, and Tremon Smith.I would agree that Okafor + Clark + Honey Badger > Houston + Ford + Berry for the coming season.
That said, they are already minus Hunt, and if they are minus Hill, overall they look potentially worse. Of course I also thought they'd be worse in 2018 than 2017 due to the first year learning curve for Mahomes so it shows you what I know.
One thing I think this does show is that they view their "window" as the next two years before Mahomes has to get paid. Might as well load up as best they can and go for it because it's going to be much tougher sledding when he is making $35-40M.
Many of their moves seem to be motivated by the schematic switch as well as an attempt to get better against the run, which was a huge weakness last year. But if in changing things around they end up reducing the effectiveness of their pass rush, which was elite in 2018, that secondary could really get exposed.
