Why are you so worked up?Is that what they did to Belichick last week when he touched base with Andy Reid post-game?
The safety blanket will be Chris Godwin if he ever gets healthy. That’s the missing ingredient in this offense. Agree that Brady could use a better pass catching RB.The Bucs will be fine but you can see where the cracks are. No James White-type player hurts Brady more than I thought it would. Vaughn isn't readythem yet, McCoy is cooked, RoJo has stone hands, Fournette can't stay healthy and might be a big name JAG anyways. If he's healthy next week I think working dump offs to him into the passing game is imperative. Evans is a thousand times better than any 2019 Patriot but you can see the drives stall out the same exact way they did for us last year and the lack of both a true safety blanket and a threat to get back a big chunk on 2nd and long is going to kill them.
White or Burkhead in that offense would change it dramaticallyThe safety blanket will be Chris Godwin if he ever gets healthy. That’s the missing ingredient in this offense. Agree that Brady could use a better pass catching RB.
I’m not worked up at all. You said that if TB met postgame that the NFL would do all sorts of bad things to him, seemingly because he was a Patriot or something. We’ve seen players do the postgame thing every game and so far as I know no punishment has happened. Belichick met with Reid, no punishment. Why are you so worked up?
The NFL apparently sent a memo out after last week reinforcing the postgame rules and threatening punishment.
I mean, your guy beat him in Super Bow and won tonight--enjoy it.
Yup. Although none of it will matter if their OTs block like they did tonight. Mack is obviously a handful but that was a really ugly stretch. When Tom has time this year, he’s been very good. But tonight at the end he got jittery.White or Burkhead in that offense would change it dramatically
We’re petty? I don’t want to see him do well on any team not named the Patriots, sorry not sorry.I just don’t understand how anyone can root against Tom Brady or relish in his failures. Boggles my mind.
Agreed but I also can’t understand how anyone can enjoy watching him do well with someone else. If I broke up w my gf I wouldn’t stalk her on insta afterwards to see pics of her w her new man. And Brady meant more to me than any girl possibly couldI just don’t understand how anyone can root against Tom Brady or relish in his failures. Boggles my mind.
This is kind of a stretch though. It’s the leagues rule this season that was reinforced two weeks ago due to players still meeting and shaking hands.I’m just saying that TB running off the field rather than doing the quick postgame thing that a ton of players did tonight was a punk move.
I couldn't care less how the Buccs do, but the reveling in any little failure because he wanted to play somewhere else after 20 years is weird. At least some people are consistent and have been hating on the guy here since 2013, I guess.Agreed but I also can’t understand how anyone can enjoy watching him do well with someone else. A lot of people have done this, not just you, but it's weird how so many people are comparing Tom Brady to women they used to date.Agreed but I also can’t understand how anyone can enjoy watching him do well with someone else. Being a passionate football fan is not rational, nor necessarily sane...there have been many scholarly articles written on the subject and the reaction here is "normal".A lot of people have done this, not just you, but it's weird how so many people are comparing Tom Brady to women they used to date.
It's not just weird, it's creepy and it is not apt. Tom Brady didn't break your heart by cheating on you with some other dude. He switched teams in the NFL after 20 years. The fact that so many people are comparing Brady to lost love leads me to believe people should be a little more understanding of his motives and his move.
He said “he knew what down it was” or something like thatOk now for Arians to call Brady a moron in the presser.
It's not normal to come up with convoluted examples about how Tom Brady used to be your wife or girlfriend.Being a passionate football fan is not rational, nor necessarily sane...there have been many scholarly articles written on the subject and the reaction here is "normal".
I would think you are smart enough to know that folks are simply drawing analogies...perhaps the analogies are clumsy, but comparing the passion felt as a fan to "love" is not uncommonIt's not normal to come up with convoluted examples about how Tom Brady used to be your wife or girlfriend.
Pretty sure Simmons was doing this 20 years agoI would think you are smart enough to know that folks are simply drawing analogies...perhaps the analogies are clumsy, but comparing the passion felt as a fan to "love" is not uncommon
Yeah it's not remotely comparable because A) Bourque had never won a single title and B) the city of Boston had gone 10 years without a title. We don't need to celebrate someone's success outside of this city because any player now in a different city has probably already won a title in Boston. We are so ridiculously spoiled that we don't have to celebrate titles elsewhere.Watching Tom play for the Bucs is this odd detached experience where I want him to play well but cheer when he throws an INT, especially a pick-6.
I'm sure there are psychological studies why some folks feel this way or how watching a player once rooted for can be compared to past romantic endeavors.
What I can't deny is that I definitely would like the Pats do better than Tampa, whether it'd be advancing further in the playoffs or simply finishing with a better record.
Circumstances are different but I do remember rooting the hell out of Bourque to win with the Avalanche. I also didn't mind him coming back to Boston with the Stanley Cup, a bit of a controversy at the time. If Brady had played with NE for 20 years and never won a Lombardi, perhaps I'll feel the same way about #12 now.
True. Despite what I posted just a few minutes ago, I can see myself rooting for Brady if they made it to the SB and the Pats did not.I will say it is interesting in comparison to say Pedro, who we all were rooting for after he left, although part of that may have been him playing against the MFY in the World Series.
I can cheer the Titans onTrue. Despite what I posted just a few minutes ago, I can see myself rooting for Brady if they made it to the SB and the Pats did not.
I'd rather have him win a title than say, the Chiefs (squash that dynasty talk), Ravens (f*ck Harbaugh), Bills (oh no, not a team from the AFCE), Colts (f*ck the entire organization), and definitely, definitely not the Steelers (y'all know why). The only team I can possibly root for may be the Browns and even that's a stretch.
Same trajectory here. Was tough to watch the 2nd half of that Chargers game and not feel the same thrill of, "he's not going to lose this damn game!" 5 TDs, in total command of the game-- we don't get to see that all the time in football, no matter who you root for. It's football played at the highest possible level, and that will never not be compelling.I was definitely hoping Brady would be mediocre but watching the Bucs I've been rooting for him/them more than not.
This is pretty much where I am.Watching Tom play for the Bucs is this odd detached experience where I want him to play well but cheer when he throws an INT, especially a pick-6.

I heard that tooJust heard a “Bruce Springsteen” audible call in the Raiders game?
It could get worse?Lamar Jackson seems to have regressed as a passer.
I was surprised by the no-call too.Carr throws a pick and definitely and 100% tackles the guy way out of bounds. But I guess the refs took mercy on him, no flag.
