It's worth noting that Bryson was #4 on tour in sand save percentage last year, and including the past two years has saved 60%; tour average is just under 50%. So doesn't seem like his shafts or hands are hurting him too much. And then next hole hits a crappy sand shot and the announcers all pile on about how wedge shaft is too long and he doesn’t hold his hands low enough. Seemed like a clear response of “don’t blame the bunkers you jerk”.
I'm not sure it's been mentioned in here or not, but Every Shot Live is free for everyone this Thursday. It's a big undertaking and even if I weren't deeply involved in it I would think it's awesome. It got cut off last year. 4 rounds of it this year will make for great golf watching. No announcers. Just natural sound.

The biggest difference is that it's all live. The Masters is essential a VOD playlist. It's still very cool, it's just not done live.Is this any different than what the Masters does?
Not trying to be insulting...just curious. Its exciting if it is.
Nope won't be able to do it....internal out of bounds. I've heard of courses doing this before and making the players play the hole as it was designed. For his next feat, Bryson has talked about playing 18 at Sawgrass down the 9th hole on the other side of the water.

He says it is a 310 carry to get there. It would give him more room to land his tee shot and a better angle in. Seems like the biggest hurdle is logistics. I'm not sure where the ropes are at Sawgrass, but theoretically there could be spectators and players on the 9th in the landing zone. secondly, there's not easy path to get there from the 18th tee. It'd be a lengthy walk around the pond. (But he's the fastest walker on tour!!). Finally, it'd be hard to get a yardage for his 2nd shot from over there.
He makes it sound like he won't do it, but we'll see. I didn't think he'd try the monster carry at Bay Hill either.
The guy is a content provider extraordinaire.
I could be wrong here but I thought the Masters did a few feature groups like every other event but then also had 2 or 3 other streams showing just a handful of holes (8/9/10 and 15/16 maybe?) with every group cycling through that coverage. The biggest difference is that it's all live. They do, as does the Tour, but last year you could watch every shot at The Masters on their app/website. They just weren't live.I could be wrong here but I thought the Masters did a few feature groups like every other event but then also had 2 or 3 other streams showing just a handful of holes (8/9/10 and 15/16 maybe?) with every group cycling through that coverage.

Correct. THey have the same camera show every shot from one group live with no announcers. You really get a feel of what it's like following along a single group and being part of the flow. You manually choose what group you want to watch. Unless I'm missing something.
That's correctJercra this thing is free for the first round only right?
Then a casual chip in for 8.3 in the drink off 17 for Na. 4th held on by a few inches.
it is windy....back hole location and the green is extremely hard so balls aren't holding and bouncing over - if you hit it short you aren't guaranteed a 2 putt eitherHaven't watched it at all... is the wind up today? What is making 17 so difficult? Like-- isn't the general idea to aim for the fat of the green? I know that the only way you get close to the Sunday position is a mishit or being desperate. But to struggle with it on a Thursday?
Apparently they redid the green last year and the surface is very hard. There’s a slight right to left wind and anything landing left of the pin just keeps going to the water.Haven't watched it at all... is the wind up today? What is making 17 so difficult? I saw a clip of Mickelson's tee shot. A bit long and left, but it ended up in the grass at the green end of the walkway from the "mainland."Apparently they redid the green last year and the surface is very hard. A few guys have been on the walkway today. Cantlay was way down:I saw a clip of Mickelson's tee shot. A bit long and left, but it ended up in the grass at the green end of the walkway from the "mainland."
