Maybe we could get him a Juul hat too and sell them in kid sizes in the Dolphins’ team store. If it’s a nicotine vape, why do you care.

What’s wrong with me not wanting an NFL coach vaping on the sideline during a nationally televised playoff game? What is wrong with you?
Do you eat McDonalds or any processed foods? Drink coffee? Alcohol? Saturated fats? Bad look. Not cool. We need to be better as a society or else everything will crumble into an abyss.
Maybe, maybe it would stop all these kids from being obese. Mike Mc D is a pretty trim guy.Maybe we could get him a Juul hat too and sell them in kid sizes in the team store.
People are posting old pics of guys who smoked. That's funny. We're having fun.I can’t even believe we’re having this discussion.
Jesus christ, you want to have fucking fun? You are history's greatest monster.People are posting old pics of guys who smoked. That's funny. We're having fun.
Just funnin' around. Ya know, because no one is suggesting that the NFL should actively advocate a pro-nicotine position.
I'm a strict "you're probably using literally wrong" kind of guy. But when one lists "NFL messaging issues," among things that are actually issues, a coach vaping on the sidelines might be at the bottom of that list. Literally.A coach vaping on the sideline is the literal least of the NFL’s messaging issues? Literal? Really…?
You think there's kids out there that see an NFL coach hit his vape, and THATS what makes them want to start? Not all of their friends that do it, the TV shows that show young kids doing it, the shit plastered all over every convenient store...it's cool cat Mike McDaniels? What’s wrong with me not wanting an NFL coach vaping on the sideline during a nationally televised playoff game?
Not to mention the fact that players get tested for marijuana, and fined/suspended if they fail that test.I've got to say if he was vaping and it was marijuana i'd think about canning the guy. Not because of the children or the image or anything, just I really don't want my head coach on drugs during a game. (same would guy if they were sneaking a shot out of a flask).
ALL THE MILLENIALS ARE SMOKING THE WEED ALL THE TIME.I really can’t fathom it being weed. Likely a quick hit of nicotine to calm the nerves in his first playoff game as an HC. One that he thought he could sneak by the cameras, etc. quickly. And not even remotely a firing offense, FFS.
I had said the same thing earlier, but I doubt it was. And, even if it was, there's no way to prove it. Not without the NFL forcing the issue - which they wont (and shouldn't).I've got to say if he was vaping and it was marijuana i'd think about canning the guy. Not because of the children or the image or anything, just I really don't want my head coach on drugs during a game. (same would guy if they were sneaking a shot out of a flask).
It’s also kind of a bad look when you are one of the youngest coaches in the league. I think McDaniel seems pretty talented and very bright and I agree with others who think it was probably nicotine, but the idea that he could have been hitting weed with his whole season on the line? In a league that suspends Josh Gordon 700 times for using marijuana, I do think that’s a fireable offense. For me, the concern wouldn’t be the messaging to kids or the encouragement of smoking, it’s just a lack of discipline that’s inappropriate for a coach. A game is 3-4 hours. Don’t indulge your vices while leading other men through pain and privation.
Nah, that's the benefit of the paleo diet your looking at.Maybe, maybe it would stop all these kids from being obese. Mike Mc D is a pretty trim guy.
Yeah, it's not like we're talking about actual dolphins ... or blueberriesAfter considering it extensively, I think I've decided I do not give a shit.
So then where do you fall on Nicotine gum? You know Pete Carroll is crushing reams of it every game. For me, the concern wouldn’t be the messaging to kids or the encouragement of smoking, it’s just a lack of discipline that’s inappropriate for a coach. A game is 3-4 hours. Don’t indulge your vices while leading other men through pain and privation.
Correct. I keep my give-a-shit mojo in reserve for the stuff that matters.Yeah, it's not like we're talking about actual dolphins ... or blueberries
I’m not sure whether players are using nicotine, but I don’t equate it with food and water. It’s just about respect, I’d be pissed if I was training or competing and my coach was smoking or having a beer at that time. I can see someone disagreeing, but it’s a bit of a culture fail.So then where do you fall on Nicotine gum? You know Pete Carroll is crushing reams of it every game.
And you're acting like the players don't get hydration and nutrients during the game. They can eat and drink during the game if necessary. It's not like these guys are two way players. There is plenty of time to fuel up on the sidelines at any point. And are you sure players aren't using nicotine during the games?
Honestly, a relief. He had two hands tied behind his back at times with all of the injuries to the defense, but in my opinion, he failed to adapt to Miami’s change in personnel.Boyer canned.
Yeah that takes me back to the Mad Men pilot. Don asks him how cigarrettes are made and comes uo with "it's toasted". Which according to the show is standard for all cigarrettes. Its no more than a probable fine for violating a league rule. To the NFL, its like wearing the non-official brand of fedora to pay homage to George Halas.

I wonder if any of them might return to the Pats’ coaching staff.
Would love to see what Boyer could do running the offense!I wonder if any of them might return to the Pats’ coaching staff.
Well if they are free and still being paid by Miami that’s right up Bill’s alley.I wonder if any of them might return to the Pats’ coaching staff.
My Dad toasted Lucky Strikes for 52 years . . . . . . .before having his left lung removed 5 years ago, having two bouts of cancer, and now being 75 and barely able to get around, and not able to play golf which is literally the only thing that he wanted to do or cared about heading into retirement about 6 months before the cancer. Its no more than a probable fine for violating a leaAnd there were a million of these before my time:

Darlington also said on the Joe Rose Show today that Boyer was essentially “pushed” on McDaniel and he was really keen on bringing in Fangio when he was hired. While I want Vic Fangio here for obvious reasons, I'm very positive about the initial DC list overall. They're all very solid candidates.
Darlington reported recently that Fangio and McDaniel have a good relationship. The fact that he's interviewing has my hopes up -- considerably. As MM stated this past year, he needs a "HC of the defense." That's Fangio. The upgrade from him to Boyer would be ... substantial
We’ve seen various levels of offensive guys surrendering play calling duties. Daboll let Kafka call the offense and the Giants had a huge turnaround this year.Snagging Fangio in particular would be a win. The man can coach a defense, flat out, and I bet he would come in with the understanding that his input on personnel (who stays or goes) will be key to the front office.
I admittedly have a strong bias toward hiring coaches for key roles that have done the job before at a high level, as opposed to taking a chance on a more inexperienced candidate, but I’d be pulling to nab Fangio. He can be their Wade Phillips, ie, the head coach of the defense, which is a critical role to get right if McDaniel insists on holding the play sheet on offense.
He’s “still in the protocol” because there’s zero reason or incentive for Miami to remove him from the protocol.Man, I hope Tua hangs em up. I feel terrible for the kid but if he can’t participate in the pro bowl because he’s still in the protocol…. He’s gotta think about his future health.

Let’s say Tua hypothetically ended his career. What is his recourse? Can he sue the league, the team, and the doctor’s for not properly diagnosing him with a concussion during the Bills game?Is there liability for the franchise potentially? Doctors were calling out one of his concussions in real time and the Dolphins put him back in to get another.
Seems like "following the guidance of medical professionals" would be a pretty robust defense. The docs on site would be more likely to be on the hook for any liability, no?Is there liability for the franchise potentially? Doctors were calling out one of his concussions in real time and the Dolphins put him back in to get another.
