Quite. Rory and Spieth are so clearly in their own heads at the moment - it's really depressing.sigh...
He was -2 on the 11th tee and and shot 75. He was my pick coming into the week and just a brutal back 9 for him.41 coming in for Koepka. Yikes.
The announcers are at their worst when they get into the "well he grew up nearby so he'll play well here" psycho-babble."Henley, the Georgia native who always seems to play well at Augusta" just buried deep into the trees to the right of the green on 4.
Also in fairness, I'd prefer the announcers talk half as much (and that goes for all sports). In fairness, Henley does have a good record. 5 appearances, 4 made cuts, 3 top 25's. For a middle of the road PGA Tour player that's pretty solid at Augusta.
They talk too much in F1, but it's not as badAlso in fairness, I'd prefer the announcers talk half as much (and that goes for all sports).
I used to watch a bit more of the European Tour and their announcers are wonderful. They shut up and let what you're seeing breathe. Maybe it's an American sports broadcast problem. I throw on Premier League on weekends and those announcers also manage to not talk constantly. It's really great.
Shouldn’t this benefit the Europeans who are more accustomed to these conditions? There has to be data in heavy winds somewhere.Sounds like it is going to be a fun afternoon today. Morning guys seem to be getting it a bit easier than in expected later. They are talking 30-35 mph wind
You knew as soon as they said that that he would hit it badly. It reminded me of when the announcer talks about how good of a foul shooter the player is and then he clanks it off the rim.The announcers are at their worst when they get into the "well he grew up nearby so he'll play well here" psycho-babble.
This kicker hasn't missed a kick since the Clinton administration. You knew as soon as they said that that he would hit it badly. It reminded me of when the announcer talks about how good of a foul shooter the player is and then he clanks it off the rim.
ESPN+ has the least amount of delay but the Masters app on the iPad is definitely excellent. If anyone hasn’t yet downloaded The Masters App it is 10x better than the PGA one. Far and away the best golf app I’ve seen and on like 7 second delay opposed to 2-hole delay.
ESPN+ announcers talked about this yesterday when Scheffler yanked his iron off the tee on ...4(?) . They mentioned how Arnie used to say that Driver was usually the best play at Augusta because even a miss would keave you closer to the green (paraphrasing).DJ: *pulls 3-wood and still throws it into the trees.*
Do you think they have the same "I could have done that with a driver and been 30+ yards further" thought I have when I try to play a safe shot off the tee?
I thought there was a 10-shot rule but maybe I'm mixing up majors.Projected cut is currently +3 but if the wind kicks up, that should increase.
The low 50 players plus ties make the cut. No 10 shot rule.I thought there was a 10-shot rule but maybe I'm mixing up majors.
Thanks. I thought at one point there was a 10-shot rule. The low 50 players plus ties make the cut. No 10 shot rule.
24 posts since the round started. So no?Are we posting enough while Tiger isn’t playing for conigliaro?
There was. It was changed in 2020.Thanks. I thought at one point there was a 10-shot rule.
I guess that is why DJ is not hitting driver.

Is that Jeff Knox's music I hear? (I can't imagine a 2 between 3's, or reshuffling groups)Oosthuizen withdraws.
I had a feeling about him
Cam and Bryson played as a 2 ball yesterday between groups of 3 when Casey WD.Is that Jeff Knox's music I hear? (I can't imagine a 2 between 3's, or reshuffling groups)
Or if someone in the early 2 person pairings thurs/fri withdraws.Knox only plays on the weekend if an odd number of players make the cut.
Sure but someone like Casey, if he didn’t WD, has a ton more experience in these conditions than a non-Floridian American. To your point, I don’t know if there are many who would qualify as having an advantage.Like 90% live here and play on pga tour full time.
Like wind is some obscure thing that only happens in Scotland and Ireland?Sure but someone like Casey, if he didn’t WD, has a ton more experience in these conditions than a non-Floridian American. To your point, I don’t know if there are many who would qualify as having an advantage.
Does Canada have wind? Asking for Corey ConnersLike wind is some obscure thing that only happens in Scotland and Ireland?
I don't get it. These guys are professional golfers and have all played 5000 rounds in their lives. They most likely have bounced up against the concept of wind.
He is Canadian. As far as I understand it, no wind in Canada.Does Canada have wind? Asking for Corey Conners
I *think* he's canadian
It’s a great smart TV app too. If you have a 4K television, the multicast takes advantage of your full resolution. If anyone hasn’t yet downloaded The Masters App it is 10x better than the PGA one. Far and away the best golf app I’ve seen and on like 7 second delay opposed to 2-hole delay.
Wow hostile group. Medvedev is a professional tennis player and can’t play on clay or in humid conditions. Only asking if heavy wind favored certain type players. I would imagine it would but people here saying it doesn’t.Like wind is some obscure thing that only happens in Scotland and Ireland?

In addition, the ESPN+ Apple TV app multicast is the single best golf watching experience possible. Can get 4 feeds going at once, you just flip to highlight which one you want audio from, and then if you want to go full screen it’s just a click. Can’t be beat. It’s a great smart TV app too. Ball strikers and guys who can flight it do better in the wind. Guys who launch it high tend to struggle.Wow hostile group. Medvedev is a professional tennis player and can’t play on clay or in humid conditions. Only asking if heavy wind favored certain type players.
