Here are the tee times. It looks like there is a typo in the am/pm labeling - everything is labeled as an am start, but they aren't using split tees. Rory is playing with Rahm and Justin Rose in what is probably the second best group at 9:59 am EST. The best? Brooks, Hideki, and Patrick "I can't play in less than 5 hours" Cantlay. I expect some great shots of Brooks death staring Cantlay throughout the round.

I think the tee times they listed are all Eastern, not local, hence all am. The forward slash splits Thursday and Friday tee times. So the Rory group is 9:59 am Thursday / 4:58am on Friday.

Thanks. That makes a lot more sense than my dumbass way of reading it.

I don't remember a ton of the course from 06 or 14. I know Tiger famously only hit 1 driver all week in 2006 when he won. Rory won in a relative romp in 2014, had a 6-shot lead heading into Sunday. Rickie and Sergio gave him a run that day but he ultimately won by 2.

It looks like they have tweaked the course a bit. 17 is a short par 3 now that apparently has some of the players grumbling. Tiny landing area, death bunkers surrounding the green. Hopefully it plays better than 15 at LACC. 18 is a par 5 they have stretched out to over 600 yards. There's also OB down the right, apparently moved 20 yards closer to the fairway than in 2014. From the picture, the stakes are no more than 10 yards right of the fairway. Could be fireworks on the closing hole.

Weather shouldn't be horrible - light rain probably but winds don't look to be anything too strong or close to last weekend's event in Scotland.

It's just dawning me I'm landing in Vegas on Saturday and can drop a few bets and start watching the final round before bedtime early Sunday AM. Great times.

Kinda surprised at the early scoring. Pretty much pristine conditions, little wind. I know they changed par from 72 to 71 but I would've thought we'd see a few more rounds in the mid 60's this morning. Spieth and Tommy might get to 67 or lower.

NBC is already driving me nuts. Their broadcast is criminal.

I mean Jordan Spieth gets to 18 at -3 in 2nd place and we don't see him again until he is hitting a 12 foot par putt and the walking reporter tells us about bunkers and shanks instead of showing it. Just a nightmare of a production.

Add that plus Faldo's return and it's featured group coverage for me.

Scott finds the internal OB on 18. Then his 3rd predicatbly goes way left into the crowd. I'm a fan of the internal OB.

Adam Scott would be hard pressed to hit two drives farther apart than he just did on 18.
Was predictable after the first one went OB.

edit: dammit … :)

Tommy's layup from the hay on the left misses the OB by a few feet. Love that the OB hugs the fairway and doesn't cut the dog leg.

No idea what happened with Scott. Sigh. I'll stop complaining.

Is there any way to watch this online without a Peacock membership? Like, the Masters and US Open you can watch groups on some websites.

I'm sold on the internal OB. We need more of it. Rickie just pumped 2 out on 18 to finish with a snowman.

Screw rolling back the ball, just paint white lines 5 feet off the fairways!

Links golf is the best. Rahm doinks a fan, ball bounces right up against the side lip of a bunker, Rahm has to play out backwards.

Taichi Kho just made a 10 on 18 without taking a penalty stroke. Looks like he had a calamity in a greenside bunker.

Justin Thomas ends the day with a 9 on #18 to finish 11 over.

How do they put in on the Ryder Cup at this rate? He's beyond terrible right now.

Is anyone just playing 18 as a 3 shot hole with something conservative off the tee?
I think the hole gets played differently tomorrow. Either stop going for it or just fly the green and play it from the back. Those bunkers are nasty.

The greenkeepers have raked the bunkers this morning, effectively raising them up by one revette on the face, so they're less penal. They just showed the front green bunkers on 18 - they do look less severe.

But as the announcers already said, nature has picked up the slack.
