Well, this will apparently not be the first year in 35 years that I don't fill out a bracket. I'm in via Venmo. And watch out, because I watched 3 games this year, involving exactly one tournament team. So, yeah, I'm something of an expert.

252 entries. A few more than last year.
UCONN-125
Houston-29
Purdue-24
UNC-17
Arizona-15
Creighton-8
Auburn-7
Tennessee-6
Iowa State-6
Illinois-4
UK-4
Marquette-4
Alabama-2

Some don't have a 0 and the boxes are blank. I'm assuming some of those make up the missing total.

Everyone that picked Houston maybe?

Edit: Or perhaps more than that as no one from your list picked Purdue or maybe after Purdue's horrible chokes every year everyone was just smart enough not to pick them.

Holy sh*t, nearly half the brackets picked UConn! That's insane (even in a UConn friendly pool). @Dan Murfman, have you ever seen a team with this high of a percentage since you've been running this?

I'd have to go back and look but don't think so. And while it definitely started as a UConn friendly pool I'm not so sure that is the case anymore. This pool took off when I started posting on here and while there are some UConn fans they definitely aren't the most popular team. I was going to do a 2nd entry but I just couldn't do one and pick against them.

That report is almost correct now. It is showing Auburn being picked 7 times. Someone had an issue getting their picks in around noon and I had him email me the picks. He picked Auburn. For some reason it's not picking up that it should be 8. If you click on Auburn you will see the 8 players picked them. I have reached out ton Run Your Pool to look into the issue

I almost always try to pick a secondary or tertiary school.but couldn't talk.myself into it this year
I usually do 2 entries--one with my general take on things, leading to UConn. But then I do another with a different school, and I went with UNC. In theory, unless I bomb my other picks, it makes it easier to root for UNC knowing I only have to potentially beat out the other 16 entries that picked them.

Has anyone ever won this pool by NOT having the actual winner?

I really don’t know why I never backed up each year. From memory I believe you needed to pick the winner except for the year I played around with the scoring system and the winner had it wrapped up before the Final Four.

I was one of the two entries with Alabama. My thinking here is that I'm not well versed in college hoops and feel the only shot I have in winning is to go with a top 4 seed that might be able to find their way into the Final Four.

Well, I thought I was completely out, but apparently I still have a shot---if the higher seeds win all remaining games with exception of Tennessee beating Purdue then Houston, and then UConn wins it all, I can take it.

My UNC bracket has a shot at 2nd place.

Yeah I still have a pathway to first but really need my long shot NC State to win their region.

Ran the scenario generator and I can still get 5th if everything breaks perfectly.

Narrator: Everything won't break perfectly.

Go into the pool, click on Reports, Scenario Generator should be the 4th option down.
Thanks for that. If you're willing to entertain a stupid question, do you just fill it out according to the picks that are still alive for you? Guessing the others don't matter as long as you project your surviving teams on the same path that you originally selected.

That's correct. That is the one thing the old program did better. It ran every possible scenario and put it out in a nice report

Well, win or lose this is by FAR the best showing I've had in this thing. Seems that if UConn and NC State were to win I THINK I'd win it. If UConn wins and NC State loses, best I can do is 3rd. Which I will certainly take.

I'm down to missing 2 payments which hopefully will have by the end of today And as I mentioned earlier I like the site but didn't like the increase in cost. The payouts will be:

1st $2,970
2nd $1.485
3rd $713
4th $475
5th $297

All payments are in minus one and after numerous emails I have deleted the entry . So the payout will be:

1st $2,957
2nd $1.479
3rd $710
4th $473
5th $296

Just dropped $150 to win $500 on the Purdue money line. Looks like I'm getting 3rd here or 4th here (minus the $150 offset) or winning there.
