I’m watching the ACC Network postgame show directly outside Cameron and its eerily quiet, just a few adult students walking back up dorms and one guy talking on his cell phone. The exact opposite of the Fox studio on Jersey Street.

I've never been a Duke fan, in fact I've rooted against them for years. However, I certainly respect the hell out of Coach K's body of work.

But I will share my favorite memory of him. Many years ago, I worked for a fairly large sporting goods company. K came and spoke at our National Sales Meeting. His speech was good, but I was more amazed at the way he turned on/off his South Side of Chicago swearing every other word when he was in front of the mike or not.
Anyway, we had a big 3 on 3 tournament after his speech, and he came out and watched some games. We all thought that we were going to impress him with our skills. Seriously, we did. His comment after watching? "You guys just redefined slow." It was hilarious and I've had a soft spot for him personally since.

I don’t really care about Duke hoops any more, but this sucks for K.

That said, this is proof yet again why this rivalry always lives up to its billing. Records and rankings simply do not matter.

Duke President named Vincent Price. Nobody under 40 will appreciate this, but this job must pay more than appearing on the Halloween episode of the Love Boat.

We don't have a dedicated Duke/UNC/ACC thread this year, but it's Coach K's final game in Cameron tomorrow vs. UNC. 6pm on ESPN. To say it will be emotionally charged would be an understatement.

I can’t believe ESPN didn’t allow more time between games here. K’a last game is about to get relegated to ESPN News and we don’t get to see any pregame.
Should have moved up the Texas Kansas game a half hour.

Or paid off the refs to make sure it wouldn't go to OT

UMBC's center's last name appears to be W6JCK? He's also like 6'10" and just missed a point blank layup.

Fake edit: I just looked it up and his last name is Wojcik. I guess the letter has just been damaged during the game.

Huge win for Michigan yesterday, beating OSU on the road without Hunter Dickinson (stomach flu). This should punch their ticket to the Dance, but I'd like to see a first round BTT win to get off the 8-9 line. Huge game from just about everyone, but Davante Jones led the way. Terrance Williams also seems to be pushing into the rotation, and Kobe Bufkin is also coming along late although his D is suspect.

Alondes with ACC POY and Forbes coach of the year. Finally, some upward momentum for the program.

Finally indeed. It has been a while. They have been fun to watch this year. They gave Forbes an extension today too -- seems pretty quick after just one good year, but he hit the jackpot on the transfer portal so I won't complain on that (yet).

The Sticks
My FB feed is lit up with Furman alumni who have strong emotional reactions to that ending.

I feel for them (even though they're technically the rival of the school where I work) - they haven't won the Socon tournament since 1980 and have lost in their last three trips to the finals.

Has any coach spent as many consecutive years on The Hot Seat as Tom Crean? Maybe you can omit that one overachieving Yogi Ferrell team but even then it seemed like Hoosier fans were simply holding their breath until that season ended. I can’t imagine him getting another gig of significance…….maybe back to the city of Milwaukee with Baldwin being fired or an IUPUI-type, bad OVC, bad Summit school, etc.

Bryant leads Wagner 36-6 with 4 minutes to go in the 1st Half. Well on their way to a first NEC Tournament Championship.
What a college basketball season for our tiny state!

Edit: Just read rest of thread. Damn!

I'm a Bryant Alum. Never had much school spirit. But, root for the teams.

Our student body is still filled with a bunch of drunk assholes.

That Wagner section looked like a tinder box from the start.

bryant fans can stay. pretty sure there’s going to be a very ugly scene when the clock hits 0:00.

Student sections close to the opposition's bench has never worked out too well. The visiting fans are wedged right in front of the students. A regular season game is one thing, but this is the danger with postseason tournaments on campus.

“Ballin’ in Smithfield” should be the greatest next Davidson-Cohn collaboration

Nothing good ever comes from Staten Island

This game should have been played at the Dunk though.
