It's weird how other teams are allowed to have good players. Who should we speak to about that?Oh, fun. The Rays top pitching prospect.
These are so much fun. I hope you have another 150+2+3+4+4 of them in you! It would be a magnificent accomplishment.Game 12
Another game. Another poem.
Another loss in this damn dome.
We just can’t seem to beat the Rays.
(It seems nobody can these days.)
We send Chris Sale back to the mound
to turn our sinking ship around.
Perhaps we’d win if things were changed…
the batting order rearranged…
if new recruits start chipping in
to make the lineup feel less thin…
if starters showed a little spark
and kept the ball inside the park…
if we could find a bullpen ace…
or hit-and-run, or steal a base…
string together some solid hits…
make sure a slumping player sits…
see Cora make a clever move…
or have someone step up and prove
that we are better than we seem -
a fun-to-root-for solid team -
that has a chance of getting hot
to battle for a playoff spot.
One win is not a lot to ask.
Let’s see if we’re up to the task.
They've been working on their system for 2 decades, and have very rarely made trades that moved prospects out.Sox facing Taj Bradley, #2 in the Rays system and # 37 overall prospect according to Fangraphs
Another guy that can make a spot start and is not a "must have" for the MLB team this year. Sometimes it feels like Tampa is playing a totally different game.
Well, try and jump on him early I guess.
He's not the second coming of Dwight Gooden or anything. Bradley is a 22 year old 5th round RHP with two good pitches. He had a very good MiL season last year across AA and AAA (with the expected numbers dip), but his two 2023 MiL starts don't suggest he's what you'd call a hot hand at the moment. (I don't know if I'd take him over Mata in a straight swap, and I certainly wouldn't take him over Bello.)Sox facing Taj Bradley, #2 in the Rays system and # 37 overall prospect according to Fangraphs

Have to give credit where credit is due. They've been working on their system for 2 decades, and have very rarely made trades that moved prospects out.
They also have as many championships as I do.

On pace to win about 162 games this year though. You ever done that? They've been working on their system for 2 decades, and have very rarely made trades that moved prospects out.

Hamstrings are hard to keep healthy when you're trying to turn soft infield grounders into singles 3 to 4 times every game.Yoshida scratched due to sore hamstring. Dalbec at SS, Kike to CF, Tapia to LF.
Years and years of unproductive draftsInjuries are injuries but that's a last-place lineup right there. How has this team run so low on major league-caliber talent?
Ain't nobody's business but his own@absintheofmalaise tells me that the first lurker that makes a Taj Mahal joke is going to be visited by BABIP
Ouch. Looking at that makes me thing you'd want to put Chang at SS - he's good there by all accounts. Or leave Hernandez at SS and put Refsnyder in the OF to bat 9th, then PH with Dalbec later in the game if there's LHP relief.
It also seems like the kind of thing that, against all reason, will work out to the Red Sox benefit. Like Dalbec is going to go 3 for 4 with a HR while starting a couple clutch double plays from the hole.OMG, putting Dalbec at SS with Sale pitching against the Rays (who, as already noted, are going to stack 9 RHH's against him) should be a fireable offense.
It seems like something a SoSHer would do to spite the FO. It's like, Cora's Rebellion or some shit.
No, but he's been on pace to lose zero games every year.On pace to win about 162 games this year though. You ever done that?
Let us know tomorrow how you liked the game, for tonight you feed the Gods of BABIP!It's Sale Day! Chris stops the Rays streak!
Ha. I live off my military retirement, so probably barely. And his home is probably nicer.

You know things aren’t going well when we are already making sacrifices on April 12Let us know tomorrow how you liked the game, for tonight you feed the Gods of BABIP!
What did he do wrong? Don't you usually choose sacrifices from the vulgar or the particularly stupid? I must have missed something.Let us know tomorrow how you liked the game, for tonight you feed the Gods of BABIP!
The sacrifices will continue until the W-L improves. What did he do wrong? Don't you usually choose sacrifices from the vulgar or the particularly stupid? I must have missed something.
And I don't believe in the efficacy of sacrifices. If only it were that easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
