Miami (oh, Miami!)
A million Dalbecs swinging at a full season of pitches, would, per Borel's theory, produce seasons which were exact copies of many of the famous batting seasons known to us, good or bad. Or with infinite time, treating the take/swing as a dot-dash binary, the works of Shakespeare in morse code. Or maybe just Ben Jonson's.

Let us see what 4/15 brings to the string.

Edit - spelling correction.

Not here
I'm going to jury duty today.

In related news, we finally found out what it takes for me to wish I was in NYC.

Also, it's possible I will not be able to commute to and from this place that's an hour away, while waiting out jury in the next four and a half hours, so please win this fucking game, mmmkay?

This theory would completely collapse if you insert Dalbec as the critical variable.

A million Dalbecs swinging at a full season of pitches would create a singularity.

Do NOT attempt this.

Good luck. Be honest, don't pre-judge, and don't worry - the judge and attorneys will take the particulars of your situation into account. You've got a chance to directly participate in one of the things that separates us from dictatorships and the like.

Full lineup, for those lazy lawyers out there without a google to their name.

Definitely the lineup I want going forward against RHP. Gets Abreu in there, definitely the best defensive alignment too... just makes sense.

If every trip into Fenway was as easy as Patriot’s Day I would be here more often. 1:15 from Seacoast NH to the Bleacher Bar. Love holiday traffic.

Series 6: GUARDIANS vs SOX

After finding out losing at home really stings,
we had hoped to avoid all the arrows and slings
and the outrageous misfortunes bad defense brings
by attacking the Angels and clipping their wings.

Game one we were shut out. Embarrassing errors
by players with gloves that were whiffers not snarers.
We seemed like a team for whom groundballs caused terrors,
turning fans into shouters, screamers, and swearers.

Then just as it looked like another lost season,
a 7-2 win the next day proved more pleasin’.
(Routine plays in the infield were the main reason.)
The Red Sox were alive! (Though clearly still wheezin’.)

We won Sunday’s game three. It was far from a rout.
It turned into a tight, tensely fought, one-run bout.
Bases loaded no outs in the ninth brought on doubt,
but the Sox won 5 to 4 as Jansen fanned Trout.

9 and 7’s not shiny, but there is a glint,
and the future still looks kinda bright if you squint.
Who plays short going forward? We still have no hint.
But stay tuned! It’s a marathon and not a sprint.

I still prefer O'Neill in CF and Duran in LF, but at least we've got Rafaela at short today.
Yeah, O'Neill is probably better out there, but it's fine with me if they want to protect him in LF.

At first I assumed you meant Ben Jonson. In a way it's kind of perfect: Jonson's innovation in modern literature, the "humoural" theory of dramatic character, requires that each character in a play be organized around two conflicting "humours," or traits, the struggle between which animates their choices and motivations in a way that an actor can communicate to an audience. So Dalbec is a Jonsonian character in this sense, torn between two humours: elite power and terrible contact. But they are not in balance! The terrible contact is too strong: it overwhelms the elite power, and the effect is less dramatic and more bathetic.

So Ben Johnson might be better. Given some large number of seasons, Dalbec probably could produce 253 PA with a 28% K rate.

Kinda like the best car I could afford during the gas crisis was a stupid no guts Volvo.

Need some corfee (8 o’clock games are too F’ing early). Once a season, fortunately.

Why are there so many matinees on Wednesday? (In fact, the Sox's 7:10 pm start is the latest start of 15 games.) There are only 5 games on Thursday (one of them being the Sox's game), so it can't be because it's getaway day, and some of the games are in warm weather locales -- Houston, LA, Miami, Arizona.

I think "getaway day" isn't always about having a game the next day
