I dunno, the Czechia line has been this weird enigma the entire season. They have awful xGF numbers (47.45%) for the number of oZone starts they get (64%). But their actual goals are 34 to 14, or just around 71%. I really don't know how they're doing it unless they found some breaking point in the publicly available expected goal models and maybe the microstats can explain it.Thank god for hockey! It feels like forever since they've played (I'm greedy).
One minor bone to pick with what is going on: If it is to be the case that Bertuzzi and Coyle are going to be on a line with Hall in the playoffs, I'd like to see them (Coyle and Bertuzzi) together as much as possible beforehand.
Maybe I'm wrong to assume that is the third line when it counts?
Monty's theory on the Czech line is that they are so talented that if they trade chances they'll finish more often than the opponent. I personally prefer not to find out if that's the case and if any regression is coming. I would put Bertuzzi on the 2nd line with Krejci and Pasta and Hall on the 3rd line with Coyle and Zacha.I dunno, the Czechia line has been this weird enigma the entire season. I'm right with you on Bertuzzi with Coyle. 105 minutes of ice time together, 63% xGF, 4-2 actual goals. Hall and Coyle is just okay in comparison: 315 minutes TOI, 53% xGF, 15-12 actual goals. I think Bertuzzi-Coyle-Hall may be a bit too pass-focused, but who knows. File it under "good problems to have."
In the context of Hall's near-return, Montgomery mentioned yesterday that same pass-focussed concern with those 3. Reading between the lines it sounded like he thought Hall could be the guy to get more shot-selfish. I don't think he's written those 3 on the same line in ink, though.I'm right with you on Bertuzzi with Coyle. 105 minutes of ice time together, 63% xGF, 4-2 actual goals. I wouldn't be mad, but from what I saw I think they dropped the gloves at the same timeInstigator coming
Looked like it to me. I don't think "when the gloves dropped" is the marker. (though not certain about that). That’s not an instigator at all but they called it
I really can't fault Lafferty on that. Grz fell awkwardly. The hit on Grz was clean.
Im not sure how I feel about starting a fight after a clean hit.
NoFor those of us that can’t watch right now, is Grz injured?

To me, he's been the better goalie for 2 monthsSwayman locked in so far.
Yes. Not by much, but he’s looking like Ullmark first half of the year.To me, he's been the better goalie for 2 months
