Which tells you probably that standings at this point don't mean much. I least I hope so, b/c the Rays scare me.
Timing is everything. A LONG season but you love to see a searing hot start like this!
You’re right that they’re not worth worrying about much at this point. We’ve gotten off to a bit of a rough start but there are teams that are supposed to be better than us but look a good deal worse.
Boy, one thing that is kind of nice about this new pitch clock is that it really seems to make the games move along more quickly.
This reminds me of Nip's reaction when ol' Ralphie boy died: "Good. More air for me."
Why the animus toward Houk? Was he that sucky a manager? I thought those Sox teams were just mediocre on talent.
Fingers crossed. There’s nothing more than I would like than a Tanner Houck who can break the string of bad late innings.
As a manager, he was just sorta there. I only remember three things from his tenure: Yaz saying the Sox would have won a lot more games had Houk been manager longer. His raised arms in the dugout during Mugsy's Bunt. And the Roger LaFrancois usage in '82.
When you got guys like Brasier and Ort waiting in the wings you don’t try anything silly.
