6/12: Sox vs ROXTOWN

I realized yesterday that a Sox win against the Yankees would make me thread starter for today, when the Sox begin their series against Colorado's own Rockies - my local team.

I've seen a bunch of Rockies games in my life, some of them even pretty good, but the best I ever saw was game 4 of the 2007 world series. Never thought I'd get to go to a Sox world series game, let alone a clinching one, let alone one at Coors field. Wild.

Anyways, I think I saw blackmon was put on the DL the other day so a good time to be hosting the already pretty hapless Rockies. Due to basketball no one in Colorado will be watching, so let's just win.

Connor Seabold Day today.....Welcome back old friend.
I'm glad he's being given a shot in a ML rotation on a team like the Rockies. I thought he could turn into a decent back end of a rotation guy but time is running out on him. Or..... more likely he'll turn into an ace tonight after the Sox hack away at crappy offerings, strand runners all over the place and score two runs while Crawford tosses 6 innings and they lose 3-2. Or... maybe not. Maybe they beat the snot out of a crappy pitcher.

So this is what I don't understand. Kike had a pretty good day at 2nd yesterday. Isn't Arroyo a better shortstop statistically anyway? Why do we have to face the horror of another night with Kike, when Christian is right there on the other side of the bag?

I was at game 3. Coldest baseball game I've ever been to

Bad play and bad luck make games tough to endure
like when a groundout takes a two-run detour,
bouncing off second as if shouting “Parkour!”
Last night, when we suffered that snafu de jour,
it felt like a game New York would win for sure,
but our sad Sox assumptions proved premature.
Stellar pitching and smallball helped us secure
a big win in extras and partly obscure
the fact that our offense is still quite demure.
Colorado comes into Boston. It’s pure
and simple: Keep winning! It has more allure.

I remember going as a young'un to some Rockies/Sox preseason exhibition game in March at Coors (cannot for the life of me remember the details - tried to look it up and a quick search isn't turning any games up, but I know it happened because I have photos) and there was still piles of snow in the seats. They cleared out some sections and left others buried. Totally surreal.

Nice, and I learned about "parkour," which I guess all the guys know, but I didn't.

Does MLB the show really inexplicably have Kaiju customization options or is that just some weird commercial thing?

That's the best defensive play I've seen Arroyo make in more than two years.
