You might expect NESN to show a replay to discuss it, but you would be wrong.
Just at full speed, it looked like that had a shot at him at the plate.
They started to but the pitch clock rushes things and then everything started to unfold.

Red Sox falling behind all day but getting back in counts with some aggressive Yankees swings.

Is there a special person who decides what uniforms they are wearing each game or is that Cora?
I saw a few different teams sporting the City Connects jerseys this week. I'm not a fan of these, but the blue works well with the MLB Father's Day theme. That said they're not wearing the best part of the uni which IMO are the powder blue caps. Gotta wear the league sanctioned FD caps I reckon.

Interesting that Pivetta as a starter so often struggled in the first inning but seems to more comfortable attacking coming out of the pen. If he can keep it up in this role, that would be a huge asset

No idea what would have happened but the balk interestingly takes away an rbi chance for arroyo. Would have had the infield in.

So did Arroyo have a free swing chance on the balk? I think if the pitch is delivered it is manager’s choice whether to take the play or the balk but I could be wrong.

Finally able to tune in and I'm shocked the Sox are winning in a game with Ort starting!

Did I read that he is the IL replacement for Houck with Murphy as the 27th man? That seems backwards with how Murphy looked before and his numbers look good in the box score today too.

Oh for sure.
Take the run obviously though. Still interesting that the balk puts the infielders back. Never know though. In an alternate universe it was a double play.

I still think Arroyo had a free swing on the balk. Gonna look up the rule after the game.
