They started to but the pitch clock rushes things and then everything started to unfold. You might expect NESN to show a replay to discuss it, but you would be wrong.
Just at full speed, it looked like that had a shot at him at the plate.

They don't pay the squirrels enoughI just don't understand why the NESN feed is so awful. I don't have problems with any other channels. NESN? Freezes up all the time on cable and streaming.
I saw a few different teams sporting the City Connects jerseys this week. I'm not a fan of these, but the blue works well with the MLB Father's Day theme. That said they're not wearing the best part of the uni which IMO are the powder blue caps. Gotta wear the league sanctioned FD caps I reckon. Is there a special person who decides what uniforms they are wearing each game or is that Cora?
Gotta think he finishes this if he doesn't let the Yankees back in. That would be huge for the pen. When pivetta is able to keep the fastball on top of the strike zone, he's pretty useful
Might just be lower stress, not overdoing it. We know he's an intense guy.Interesting that Pivetta as a starter so often struggled in the first inning but seems to more comfortable attacking coming out of the pen. If he can keep it up in this role, that would be a huge asset
It looked like he balked twice actually.I never see the balks but that I saw.
He's just not good at anythingI'm confused. I was told Cora was trying to lose this game
He has such a smooth swing that it looks low effort, but somehow the ball gets some real carry. So weird. None of Yoshida's long drives look like they were crushed coming off the bat.
What...Alex Spier hasn't posted that yet?Lead off triple, followed by a balk. I’d love to know how many innings started like that in history.
RBI, like pitcher wins, don't count for much anymore (except to the players). No idea what would have happened but the balk interestingly takes away an rbi chance for arroyo. Would have had the infield in.
Coming out of the pen I thought it was CortezWho’s next, Joba Chamberlain?
Would have to import a few million midges from Cleveland.Who’s next, Joba Chamberlain?
Well, a base runner instead of an out would have been nice.RBI, like pitcher wins, don't count for much anymore (except to the players).
Oh for sure.Well, a base runner instead of an out would have been nice.
Take the run obviously though. Still interesting that the balk puts the infielders back. Never know though. In an alternate universe it was a double play.Oh for sure.
I live about 500 ft from another Great Lake, and, well, there are a few weeks each year when I could probably source that many for you just from my balcony.Would have to import a few million midges from Cleveland.
