As was brought up in the game thread last night, it's a stupid ritual. Give the ball to a kid as souvenir for going to a MLB gameI have to say, I do love the Cubs fans throwing the balls back. Good for them.
I think it's stupid. You don't know any little kid that would appreciate a free mlb baseball?I have to say, I do love the Cubs fans throwing the balls back. Good for them.
It's all bullshit anyway. The ushers keep crappy balls for the fans to throw back. They keep the real one.As was brought up in the game thread last night, it's a stupid ritual. Give the ball to a kid as souvenir for going to a MLB game
Agreed. It's sad when starting the 38 y/o at 2B for the 1st time in 8 years is the least foolish of the decisions. He is literally, bar-none, the shittiest pitcher on roster, hands down. The Turner at 2B, Hernandez at SS, Scott to keep a tie game close but not punt. . .it's all too fucking cute.
wow, really? that makes it even stupiderIt's all bullshit anyway. The ushers keep crappy balls for the fans to throw back. They keep the real one.
OK, we're agreed on that.wow, really? that makes it even stupider
It's not as though he needs the rest.Did Wong die while striking out?
Not watching, but bringing Alfaro in as a defensive replacement seems suboptimal.
Agreed. Maybe Cora just thought Wong needed to rest, the game being already lost and all.Did Wong die while striking out?
Not watching, but bringing Alfaro in as a defensive replacement seems suboptimal.
I'm not sure if you're saying he does need rest or doesn't need rest? It's not as though he needs the rest.
He’s been pretty solid in most of his appearancesWalter looked really good that inning.
The exact reverse of my prom nightDon’t be sad because it's over, be happy because it happened.
Do we want Bleier in? Serious question.Ok... I'm going to make some more roster moves because I want to:
1) Schreiber in, T. Scott out (DFA)
2) Bleier in, Jacques out (AAA)
3) Bear Claw in, Walter out (AAA) - use Kiké's 40 man spot
4) S. Scott in, Alfaro out (DFA)
5) Reyes in, Kiké out (DFA or trade)
His game log is very uneven. He had a couple real stinkers to inflate everything, some excellent appearances, and mostly okay. He seems pretty mediocre, but that’s not bad if used accordingly.Do we want Bleier in? Serious question.
If he sucked azz because something was actually wrong physically? Yes.Do we want Bleier in? Serious question.
In one game for Portland & 3 for Worcester he has pitched 4.2 scoreless innings, 2 hits, 0 walks, 5 strikeouts. If he sucked azz because something was actually wrong physically? Yes.
If he just sucks azz now? No.
He's been pretty good in his rehab appearances so I think it's probably time to bring him back & see which it is.
If he's still terrible, they can move on pretty quickly & bring Jacques back, or try someone different.
Let me know if you figure it out. I was blacked out on Roku on my home TV in Los Angeles last night in one zip code but was able to get it at the other house in another zip code in LA. Today I was blacked out on the Roku again but streamed it on my computer, using the exact same router. I went to the MLB website to see what was up and couldn't really figure out my situation, but it seems like the "$50" deal for all teams might still get you some blackouts but the $75" one team only might be blackout free?I'm trying to figure out this "deal" from mlb.tv. if i want access to all out of market games for all teams for the rest of the season, it's $50. if i want access for just one team, it's $75. what am i missing here
Maybe tomorrow. Maybe someday.Yu Chang didnt play.
They lost.
God'll get you for this, Walter
Dammit I've been waiting for a Walter appearance so I could either post the Maude quote or "I Love Waltah", depending on how he did. I was offline all afternoon, and now both have been done already.Tommy point?
