One would think.I'm not even sure what that means, really. He can pitch an inning or two every 5 games?
One, then, would be silly. What's the difference between pitching 1-2 innings as an opener or from the pen?One would think.
Oakland heading to town. Oh OhIf the Sox could only play good teams they'd be in first place.
Probably .500+ at the break. I would have taken that in March.
Two down, three to go.You'll be happy to know that I'm fixin' to go on a 5-game rip heading into the break. One down, four to go.
That's kind of what I was getting at. I don't really know the rules for openers, but Bernadino has been pretty solid all year, certainly someone who should be used a few times/week.One, then, would be silly. What's the difference between pitching 1-2 innings as an opener or from the pen?
Is he the opener tomorrow? That's kind of what I was getting at. I don't really know the rules for openers, but Bernadino has been pretty solid all year, certainly someone who should be used a few times/week.
I haven't seen a starter announced yet. Maybe he's opener both tomorrow and Sunday. Is he the opener tomorrow?
Hoping he's the opener tomorrow ahead of Pivetta. Lefty opener maybe gets a few more RHB in the lineup for Pivetta. So what exactly is Bernardino’s role? Weird he hasn’t pitched today.
First post-pandemic game at Fenway for me. Place was absolutely jumping, stadium on its feet in the big inning. It was a little slow to fill though. Eovaldi got a couple nice hands from the crowd. This series put a bit of a dent in the “no one attends Sox games” narrative.
It's crazy? Just last year, we were wondering if he was even a major league player. He's the type of player you think about selling high on if you can get back a good pitching prospect.Duran you don't trade. That's crazy.
Verdugo only if they're certain Rafaela is definitely in their future.
What we were wondering is irrelevant. If the Sox internal assessment is that his development is real and sustainable, no way in hell you trade him. If they determine it's fluky, streaky, unsustainable, etc, then sure you sell high. It's crazy? Just last year, we were wondering if he was even a major league player. The "we" was a collective we not just fans. He was at a really low point last year especially after the Toronto fiasco in center field. I am really happy to see how he's made the adjustments at the plate. But yes, I would gauge his market and Verdugo's market in the next month to see what a return might be.What we were wondering is irrelevant. I will say that their reluctance to play him against lefties makes me wonder if they want to develop him slowly, or if they don't want to keep exposing a big weakness.
