Maybe if I write enough bad thread titles someone will do the right thing & replace me...
I've tried that before in the so-called "real life" . Dishes-- "What, they aren't done to your liking? I suppose you will have to do them".

<Morgan Freeman Voice>She did not, in fact, do them... OGG was relegated to doing more </Morgan Freeman Voice>

@Sox Rundown: 88. Kyle Teel

According to bb-ref, there have been 191 players making their MLB debut so far this season. Isn't ranking prospects 1-100 by team a little silly? I mean there are 2610 players ranked 1 to 87 among all teams.

Not sure I understand your question.

how many players do you think the Sox have under contract who aren’t on the 26 man roster? JM ranks ‘em all, it’s quite impressive.

And you could simply use a spreadsheet to assign each of the prospects a randomly generated decimal number and then sort by that.

Might be time for a promotion for Kristian Anderson. He's playing RF today for the FCL Sox & is 2-2...raising his average to .833 with a 2.024 OPS.

Of their other rookies NAZZAN is 1-2 & Stanley Tucker is 1-2 with a triple. 2-2 top 5.

Sadly they are refusing to pitch the rookie pitchers.

Denis Reguillo started & pitched 4 innings allowing 2 earned runs on 2 hits, 4 walks & 4 strikeouts.

& instead of bringing in a rookie pitcher to replace him...Wandy Abreu.

I really am not understanding your basic point on ranking prospects. Are you saying ranking is not worthwhile or has no basis in actual ability?

DSL Red won the continued game 3-0.

Gilberto Batista pitched the start of the game yesterday & pitched 2 scoreless innings with 2 hits & 4 strikeouts. He's been pretty impressive lately & doesn't turn 19 until January. In his last 6 games he has pitched 18 scoreless innings, allowing 8 hits & 1 walk, while striking out 22. He's lowered his ERA from a high of 9.31 on June 19th to 3.41. He signed for $10k in November 2022. He apparently throws 93-94.

To start off today, they went with Daniel Nunez. He pitched 3 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit & 2 walks, & striking out 3 & getting the win. He's been excellent this season, 2.15 ERA...but he's 20 so it's probably time to see what he can do at a higher level. 29.1 innings & only 18 hits allowed, but 21 walks, so definitely some work to do there. Nunez signed for $50k in July '21.

After that, Luis Jerez pitched the final 4 innings scoreless to maintain the shutout & get the save. Jerez allowed 2 hits, 0 walks, & struck out 3, lowering his ERA to 3.31. He turns 20 in a couple weeks & signed for $18k in December 2022 from Havana, Cuba.

Andruw Musett was 3-4 with his 3rd homer, justifying my irrational #60 ranking of the 17 y/o catcher who was signed for $90k this January out of Barquisimeto, VZ.

Albert Chalas was 2-3.

Yosander Asencio didn't play yesterday's innings, but started today in CF & went 2-2 with a walk. I promised something on Asencio the other day...he's been raking & making my previous #83 ranking look silly. He is now hitting .333 with a .964 OPS. He turns 19 in November. In his first DSL season last year he had 46 walks & 52 strikeouts (.838 OPS). So far this season he has 20 walks & 23 strikeouts. Asencio is a switch hitting outfielder who signed for $80k in January 2022 out of San Cristobal, DR. Looking forward to seeing how he does at FCL next season.

Wandy did predictable Wandy things & allowed 3 runs in 4 innings on 5 hits & 4 strikeouts.

Then Simon Pacheco did even worse than one would expect for Simon Pacheco (I know you guys all have certain expectations of Simon Pacheco), & allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, in the 9th inning on 3 hits including a 3-run homer.

They taunt me by listing all these new pitchers on the FCL roster:

Carlson
Duffy
Early
Feeney
Fogell
Ingrassia
Mejias
O'Donnell
Wehunt
Weins

But then don't pitch any of them. I feel similarly about Antonio Anderson & Nelly Taylor on the list of hitters.

FCL Red Sox lost 8-4.

Kristian Campbell went 3-3 with a walk. In 3 games, he is 6-7 with 2 walks, 2 doubles & 2 steals. He has a batting average of .857 & an OPS of 2.032. It might be time for a more aggressive assignment for the 21 y/o we took with the X compensatory pick.

Nazzan went 1-4 with a walk. Tougher adjustment for him so far: .133 BA, .449 OPS.

Stanley Tucker went 1-4 with a triple, a walk & his 1st steal. He has had similar struggles: .105 BA, .413 OPS.

Bryant Zayas was 1-3 with his 1st homer.

Nathanael Yuten was 2-5.

I, too, am confused by this. Do you just not like discussion about prospects? JM3 is putting a lot of work in, but also having fun doing it (I assume), and there's a lot of people (myself included) who enjoy reading his updates and such. Like, what is your actual complaint here?

DSL Blue won 3-1.

They got an excellent start from Jesus Garcia (who doesn't turn 18 until November). Garcia pitched 5 scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 walk & striking out 5. He lowered his ERA to 3.26. He's been even better lately. In his last 5 games he has pitched, he has thrown 21 innings, allowing 3 runs on 18 hits & 2 walks, striking out 17, for a 1.29 ERA over that stretch.

Ali Ascanio struck out the side in the 9th for his 3rd save.

YOELY was back at shortstop for the 1st time in a while today & showed some rust...1-4 with 2 strikeouts.

STARLYN was also 1-4 with 2 strikeouts, but got his 3rd triple.

Kleyver Salazar was 2-3 with a double & a walk.

I took it as a complaint about the arbitrary nature of prospect ranking, not a dig at me personally. But glad you enjoy reading!

It's fun doing these most of the time.

Is he good defensively? So I can nickname him "Hands" Kristian Anderson?

I mean, whether he's good with them or not, he certainly has 2 of them soooo...

It's interesting that they've tried him at 2B & RF so far. I don't think he has a long term future at SS. He may profile best as an OF long term.

Oh, yup, Walter is listed as the g2 starter on the MiLB page.

They still have Portland as TBD, though.

In only Bleis were healthy the Teenage Mutant Ninja Prospects title would be right there: Liunardo, Miguelangelo, Zanatello, and Rafaela.

Don't sleep on Miguel Ugueto.

Actually do...he's also on the 60-day IL.

Through 2 innings, Houck has allowed a single & struck out 2. 14 of 19 pitches strikes.
