Let's get some offense tonight and give the good half of the bullpen a rest after having to use all of them last night. I'm thinking something like 316 runs should suffice.

That was literally a terrible game to watch last night. Poor camera location(s) or poor work by the production crew, or both? Started with Verdugo's homer and didn't really improve.

Prime example was McGuire's baserunning fiasco. If the umps only had those replays to look at, no way is that reversed (nor was it).

The win was great though, especially the electrifying bullpen work. Fist bumps all around after in San Diego (visiting Son #1). The Padres even skunked the O's.

Just keep winning series. One game at a time and the standings will take care of themselves.

Casas hitting 8th? I hate that he potentially loses an AB by hitting that far down in the order, Reyes and even Verdugo may benefit from him hitting behind them.
2nd clean up hitter grand slam alert.

I like having Casas hitting in the 8th spot with this lineup. Without Story in there, he needs to bat earlier. But with Reyes and Verdugo in front it gives him a good chance to drive some runs in and pitchers don't have a chance to take a batter off until the 9 spot.

It's incredible how much better the lineup looks with Story back.

It helps that Reyes is also hitting well.
I'm pleased (and surprised) that the team is sticking with the hot Reyes rather than feeling obliged to play Urias.
I assume the opposing pitcher is left-handed, and there's nothing wrong with Masa.

Game 120
Pivetta pitched well at first, but we frowned
when he faltered and was finally downed.
Our bullpen stepped up as the game unwound.
We won 5 to 4, but did not gain ground.
Tonight, Big Maple heads out to the mound
against Gore, a guy, our hitters should pound.
With very few easy wins to be found,
we really need to knock this guy around.
Let's keep taking games, so that we can hound
the teams above us, until we are crowned
as a playoff team, then we can astound
all our opponents with fury unbound,
to win it all and become world renowned.
Doubt if you will, but this logic seems sound.
Win tonight’s game and make them feel NatsTowned.

Yeah, he's locked in. Line drive after line drive. You ride him as long as that continues

Never saw him hit the wall, but a few games ago in left field, he clearly got his lights knocked out.
Am I missing the point or are you? I thought that GP must mean Games Played, b/c the Japanese baseball season is a good deal shorter.
P.S. See it was my obtuseness. Lights knocked out, haha.

Lol. Wasn’t my best joke.
He certainly can use the rest. He’s been slumping.
Hope to see the team at full strength soon, though I’m not sure I know what the ideal lineup would be exactly.
I suppose Duvall sits?
Can’t quite figure out the perfect outfield/dh combo.
Guess it depends on matchups.
It’s a good issue though have though.

It’s a beautiful night here in SW CT. I got a salmon about to come off the grill, and some farm fresh vegetables ready to go. IPad is set up to stream the game while I luxuriate outside on my back porch.

Don’t F this up, Sox.

Why are they playing this game? It's a foregone conclusion the Sox will win. I understand they sold tickets, but they should just do like a slow pitch exhibition and give the Sox a 7-0 win in the standings.

Doesn't appear that they sold THAT many tickets!

And helluva catch Vargas.

What does untracked mean?
This guy seems to be pitching well. Duvall is only one-sixth of the outs he has gotten so far.
Yeah their pitcher looks good, but it seems Duval is striking out a lot lately. And frequently on bad pitches. (As do a bunch of our other guys).
