You can't walk Jeter Downs twice. All three of the Nats' runs were walked on base.
The problem is that the starters include two older guys who haven't pitched much in the past couple of years, and two younger guys whose innings are being monitored.Cora needs to start asking more of the starters.
I was just hoping the players would. For us, optional.Sorry, DDB. Not having fun. Maybe later?
Will that do it for you? They were never going to score the minimum 4 runs required to win this game without giving up more runs. Not with the way they've been hitting for weeks.A two-run deficit with half a game to go?
I'm curious how is their ability to score runs dependent on the number of runs they give up?They were never going to score the minimum 4 runs required to win this game without giving up more runs.
Easy to second guess this but spot on. Sale was doing well, got squeezed a bit but obviously this is on Cora. His choice backfired big time.Cora needs to ask more of the starters. Going to the pen in the 5th in a 1-1 game is dumb.
Yeah as painful as it is to see the starter yanked in the 5th and then Wink melt down, Sale is part of this team going forward through 2024 for better or worse so better to err on the side of caution.I don’t think Sale is fully stretched out and he was looking shaky even with the ump bullshit. He made the right move.
2026 should be pretty awesome though…maybeBad team.
Need a complete reset in 24. Bloom gone, Cora gone.
$300M man hasn’t had an RBI in last 10 games.Offense is down to Casas & Turner, with Reyes chipping in some.
He's getting revenge... on the team that gave him every chance to succeed and he just pissed it away. The Jeter Downs Game.
Cora loves to pull his starters early.Easy to second guess this but spot on. Sale was doing well, got squeezed a bit but obviously this is on Cora. His choice backfired big time.
