Let's face it. Streaks are really difficult to maintain and the Sox had a 3 game one on the good side and the Astros had a bad one going. Chances were pretty high that streaks were ending. But starting up a new one should be just fine. Houck returns...... faces Verlander. It's not a "must win"... but.... well yeah it is. It's a must-win. Fucking win. Losing really sucks. It's so insanely hot here in TX. I work mostly outside and it really blows. I've just about had it. But when the Sox win, it really helps to ease the frustration the following day. So help me out here guys!!!

Not unexpected. We swept the MFY. That's all I asked for. Last night was not enjoyable.

I don't like this stadium. With the stupid Train and Oxy. Win a couple and get the hell outta here.

I was very surprised how well the Sox hit Cole. There has been some suggestion that excellent opponents up the Sox game. Let's hope that applies tonight.
For some reason, I have always disliked Verlander. I would appreciate the Sox making him sweat.
Speaking of sweating, how has this affected your outdoor workers?

Or do y'all just ignore that? Anyway, I have been thinking about you and my TX relatives lately during this heat. Hope you are bearing up as well as can be expected and that the Sox heating up again cools you off.

I wonder if they throw Abreu right in there, or give him the unofficial "first day on the bench" treatment

Many, many years ago, the Astros had a farm team in Kissimmee. The team name from 1985 to 1994 was the Astros (which was later changed to Cobras). They took the name of the county in which they played and were known as the Osceola Astros. As is currently, most teams took the name of the city/town in which they played, but they deferred to the county name. Apparently no one wanted to be affiliated with a team named the Kissimmee Astros.

Let's kick some Astros!!!

It's been pretty awful. We try to ignore anything that comes from the Triumvirate of Evil that is Greg Abbot, Dan Patrick and Ken Paxton. We at least have shade tents, giant fans going and lots of ice water. Working 7-2 with an hour break for lunch and paying the crew an extra hour of work for every day... it's been a little tougher financially but I think it's probably worth not actually having a guy die? Call me crazy....

It's clear MLB needs to force the Astros to open the roof and remove the Gatorade dispensers in their dugout. The Red Sox, as out of towners, can keep theirs.

Yesterday sucked. I can say that with candor.
After a good first, our offense grew blander.
Each runner on base became a bystander
who never came home. We cannot philander
and fool around if we want something grander.
There's not much time left. Just take a quick gander
at today's standings. We cannot meander.
We need to be cutthroat like the Highlander,
and prove that we're Great (Just like Alexander.)
This team from Houston that's pesky as dander
will always be trash. (That's fact and not slander.)
We welcome back Houck. Our returned right-hander
who'll stand ground on the mound and will not pander
till he shows the 'stros that he's their commander.
Viva this victory over Verlander!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again (and again): Kudos!

I wish we had an audio version of this delivered by someone with a wonderful Boston accent…

After a 12-year lull, wallythe24 is BRINGIN' IT lately!

Assassinate the Astros
I really want to see Wally's last post, 12 years ago before his hiatus and name change.

Anyway, Wally coming back to talk about West Ham and the Astor's train reminds me of a joke.

Gampa has been living with his daughter and her family for a long time. Doesn't talk. One night, he's sitting at the dinner table, looks down at his plate, and then looks up at everyone around the table and says, "this broccoli sucks." Daughter says, "dad, you haven't spoken in 12 years and that's the first thing out of your mouth"? Grampa says, "until now, everything has been ok."

Why does nearly every sports gambling “expert” need to come across as used car salesmen?

I didn't post anything when I first joined , I found it all a bit intimidating.
My long hiatus was due to me forgetting my user name. I changed it to get rid of bad karma.
Up the 'Ammers and annihilate The Astros.
