These guys are major league players. If they need a manager to remind them to not make boneheaded base running errors, that’s on the players, and the GM that built the roster.
He was running with his head down, clearly just focusing on getting to third. The announcers compares it to a lack of court awareness, and I think that’s a good comparison
Schreiber is a late inning guy, and Pivetta is a middle inning guy and it would hurt their feelie-weelies if they were used otherwise?
I wonder whether there’s a mental thing that happens when you have to play at such a high level just to survive. Like pressing.
Bullshit, they should be practicing fundamentals every single day. Those skills atrophy, and this team plays like they have ignored them completely.
Looking at game logs, it seems that he’s usually good but when he’s bad, he’s bad.
Barely. He held up. It’s a timing play so he can actually score. He needs to high tail it and try to draw the throw home.
It’s not his fault. That’s all on Wong, but they all just have zero situational awareness.

Bernardino was fine. And also should have been facing the lefty who wouldn't get pinch hit for the inning before.
On the other hand, it's beyond even the capabilities of @Brand Name to calculate all the mental mistakes they've made this year
Wong’s gaffe is also heavily on the 1B coach. The scenarios need to be put in his ear in that spot.

You’re right. The first base coach has very few responsibilities. That is one of them.
And two Dodger errors. But no hits with RISP. Well, one. But we made an out anyway.
I believe in the butterfly effect. If Wong hadn't done what he did, Casas would have been thrown out trying to steal home on the next pitch.
Except of course, he would have been facing the lefty and who know what would have happened
