Notes:

Rusney Castillo is expected to begin his Sox career with the GCL Sox.

Playoff Games:

2st of 3 in the GCL for the GCL Championship... Sox up 1-0.

DSL Sox moved on to the Championship series. It may start today or Monday... MiLB.com isn't so good with this.

Playoff Races:

Pawsox Magic Number for the Wild Card is 1. Pawsox win, they are in. There is no other scenario which puts them in today (Both Buffalo and Rochester have a tragic number of 1... and play each other).

Salem had everything work for them last night... and are in the playoffs.

Lowell's loss last night takes them out of the playoff hunt, joining Greenville on the outside looking in.

According to this translation, it starts today.

The Final Series 2014 will begin on Sunday morning at the home of the Rangers 1 champions, best of five scheduled clashes in consecutive days and from 10:30 am.

Yet the MiLB affiliates scoreboard still shows nothing. So who knows.

Samir El Halaby picked the perfect time to log his best outing of the season. He entered this morning's action with a 4.30 season ERA in 37.2 innings.

Today? Four scoreless innings in relief (4 H, 0 BB, 3 K). He came in with the bases loaded and no outs in the 6th, allowing one of the runners to score on a ground-out, but retired the side in order. Then he whiffed the final two batters to close out the Game 1 road victory for the DSL Sox, and got credit for the W.

Nice start to Rusney Castillo's SOSH minor league forum career!

Mauricio Dubon getting it done in Lowell, now batting third and up to a .321 average. We have a growing list of SS talent in the low minors including Guerra, Chavis, Dubon and Lin

Alex Hassan's OBP now up over .370, familiar territory for him. Just wish he was left handed given the glut of RH bats in Boston

Drake Britton nails it down in the 9th with a pair of whiffs, and a grounder to the newest member of the team as DeJesus throws to first for the clincher.

Congrats to the PawSox, 2014 IL Wild Card champs.

Approaching a 2 hr. Delay in Pawtucket. I understand why they haven't called it... but they really should call it.
Attended game left in 6th once game was official and rain was beginning to come down hard.

* Brentz began game with diving catch on the warning track in left for the first out then made a diving catch of a low sinking LD for the second out of the inning.

* JBJ did have a chance in the OF but appeared overmatched at the plate. One weak infield pop-up and off balance on breaking pitches. Did reach on a single then proceeded to get thrown out by 3 steps at 2nd. Didn't appear to be happy at McCoy by his body language.

* Owens change up had batters off balance all night but when he makes a mistake they took him deep for a couple homers and a couple more warning track shots. Excellent mound presence overall.

* Peanuts were fresh and the watermelon Del's refreshing.
