This really is the fulcrum of the season where they can tip the scales in their favor going into the final stretch. If they just move sideways during this time, I can't see the reinforcements coming being able to make enough of a difference. They have a chance to grab the last SC spot pretty firmly. Houston is looking strong. Tampa has been playing like crap and I can squint and see them continuing their epic collapse but it's unlikely. IMO they really need to go 7-3 at a minimum over this stretch to get a good foothold into that last spot. The reinforcements after that should be good enough to hold off any challenges. This is the longest homestand of the season. 10 games vs Toronto, KC and Detroit. Gotta take care of business and finally grab hold of a Wild Card spot.
Why wouldn’t it?Is this game gonna happen? When do they normally decide?
Just seeing severe thunderstorm warning from 12-8. Just drove 9 hours for this game so really want it to happen haha. Why wouldn’t it?
Some passing thunderstorms around 3pm and I don’t see much else
Last I read he is playing at least today for the WooSox, but a return this weekend hasn't been ruled out.Is Story playing for the Red Sox tonight?
I think this gets played but scratching my commentWhy wouldn’t it?

Geaux, Sox, if you play! Now is the time to GEAUX!
Hurt his left heel? When?Turner will be sorely missed again.
Towards the end of the game Monday in Seattle. He hasn't played since.Hurt his left heel? When?
Jammed it into 1B running out a grounder.Hurt his left heel? When?
I don't get this. He'll be ready tomorrow but not today? Even non-quite-ready Story would be a massive improvement.Last I read he is playing at least today for the WooSox, but a return this weekend hasn't been ruled out.
shhhh ... don't give'em any ideasDo the Blue Jays not have the internet? They are running out an all-RHH lineup against Paxton who has a pretty severe reverse-split going this season. OPS of .587 to RHH vs .782 to LHH. He has a CAREER reverse-split where RHH are .080 OPS below that of LHH. So either they have a spray plot showing how they can use the wall, or they lost all their batting helmets with the right-side ear flap.
Every time I've seen a pitcher reverse split situation in a game, it seems the opposing team goes with convention anyway. Like convention trumps all. Hopefully, Pax mows tons of pricks down, as is the conventional phrase here.Do the Blue Jays not have the internet? They're just a very RH-hitting team. They're starting LH Varsho, the only other LH they have are Belt (hot lately), Kiermaier and Cavan Biggio... none of whom generally play vs. lefties, nor really deserve to.Do the Blue Jays not have the internet? Ah OK. Well, either way, pray for no-rain tonight. They're just a very RH-hitting team. They're starting LH Varsho, the only other LH they have are Belt (hot lately), Kiermaier and Cavan Biggio... none of whom generally play vs. lefties, nor really deserve to.
Kudos!Game 109
The trade deadline was kind of bland.
Some people think Bloom should be canned.
The moves, or lack thereof, were panned.
(The rumor is he tried but fanned.)
In truth, these Sox are still well-manned.
We don't need to break up the band.
We have our fates in our own hand.
The roadtrip did not go as planned,
but we've still got a chance to land
a playoff spot. Let's take command.
Let's get our heads out of the sand.
Let's try to play a better brand
of ball, so we can move up and
get a lead that we can expand.
(It's pretty tight last time I scanned.)
It all begins with this homestand.
A win tonight would sure be grand.
