It would be funny if they won like 12 in a row now just to see the narrative battle between "They are winning now because they sacked Bloom, they should have fired him sooner!" vs. "Bloom's work is finally paying off and they shouldn't have sacked him!"

Martin was warming when the score was 2 to 0. Most relievers say if they start warming up, they prefer to come into the game. Maybe if the Sox scored 10 runs or something in the inning, Cora gets someone else up, but Story homers and the next guy quickly made the 3rd out. Might as well send Martin out there to close. If nothing else, it guarantees a victory in Game 1.
