No. This was his third of the season. The other two were August 8 and Sept 5
League average is 80%, so he was basically right at that before he got caught tonight.
They have to get Devers off third base. He's killing them. (Not that they aren't already dead for this season)
He needs to 1)go on a diet and 2) have special lessons in defense all off-season long (after a short vacation).
It wouldn't bother me so much if it was just Devers, but it's everyone on the damn team.
Annnnd, awesome, costs them another run.
If a team calls about Whitlock this off-season, I’d pick up the phone. I know they need pitching, but he’s injury prone and inconsistent.
Whitlock's ERA on the season is 5.40. That is a sadly accurate representation of how he's pitched.
Amazing how that walk came around the score the go-ahead run.

I think it matter more in Devers' case b/c his contract eats up so much payroll and he can't easily be unloaded. Also, his offense makes him too valuable to sit.
I have a feeling he will end up taking that player option, to be honest. And I am okay with that.
Not that they are of a mind to do so, but his contract is easier to unload than you might think. He's locked into a pay scale, doesn't have 10-5 rights, has no opt-outs and, most importantly, doesn't have a no-trade clause.
A big market team willing to pay for the bat would be tempted.
Then again, I doubt it's very likely they trade him.
