It wouldn't bother me so much if it was just Devers, but it's everyone on the damn team.

Annnnd, awesome, costs them another run.
I think it matter more in Devers' case b/c his contract eats up so much payroll and he can't easily be unloaded. Also, his offense makes him too valuable to sit.

Not that they are of a mind to do so, but his contract is easier to unload than you might think. He's locked into a pay scale, doesn't have 10-5 rights, has no opt-outs and, most importantly, doesn't have a no-trade clause.
A big market team willing to pay for the bat would be tempted.

Then again, I doubt it's very likely they trade him.
