I mean, he hasn't been awesome this year... but the hockey injury gods can just fuck right the fuck off at this point.

The hits just keep on coming. It's almost comical at this point.

Between here and everywhere.
Ha. Hahaha. Hahahahaha.

Man trading Boychuk looks absolutely terrible right now.

The only positive in all these injuries now is the hope the team will be rested, healthy, and peaking just in time for the playoffs.

I feel bad for McQuaid, but he hasn't been good this season. I assume Trotman comes back up for the weekend.

Yeah. I mean, how could you predict this string of injuries? All the same...

They can't call Steve Eminger up, he's on an AHL-only contract. Ditto for Frankie Simonelli. They aren't going to waste a contract and cap space on either of those two. Breen and Cross I guess are possibilities but that's over thinking it. I don't see why it won't be Trotman. He's serviceable and it's not like Miller/Morrow/Bartkowski are anchors in the lineup that can't watch a game or two here and there in the press box if they get too worried that Trotman has sat too much. Or he rides the shuttle up and down 95.

Edit: Back to McQuaid, out of the 10 D the Bruins have dressed this year, McQuaid is 9th in CorsiRel (-9.0 per 60 min) only ahead of Joe Morrow. Those two have been paired together for the majority of Morrow's time in Boston, so It'll be interesting to see how Morrow's game goes without McQuaid. Who has been the true anchor on that pairing?

Is there any room to make some sort of move to bring in veteran depth?
There's really no need for it right now. They need to just tread water until they can start getting guys healthy. They're comfortably in a playoff spot and have the luxury of waiting to see when guys get healthy.

I wouldn't want Chia to make any rash moves right now.

Not to pick nits, but I wouldn't say they're "comfortably" in a playoff spot right now.

They're only 5 points up on the 9th place team (Washington) with every team below them in standings having games in hand on the Bruins (anywhere from 1 to 3).

While TSC makes a good point about the games in hand, I'd call it comfortable because all those teams suck.
