Disclaimer: I in no way mean to wrongly convey any personal issue with you by what I'm about to say. This reply is based on the words you typed, with sincerely no background behind it.

That out of the way, this is perhaps one of the douchiest posts I've seen in a bit.

If you think people hate the Pats because they come from Boston and Harvard and Libtards then you're either working with an agenda or you're a tad out of touch. You're also giving the average football fan far too much credit.

They hate the Pats because of scandal and media slant. Because they win and the media plays up narrative. Because they beat the parity system and have a pretty boy QB, a dickhead as a HC and an owner that wear Sketchers with his $1k suit and white collared shirt. Because they've been told to hate all that.

The Steelers and Cowboys got so much institutional love because of how broadcasts worked when they were the premiere franchises and they grew roots far outside their market - they were 'national' teams because they were shown everywhere, much like Notre Dame. They were embraced so much because they didn't have 24 hour media coverage highlighting every little thing and people trying to turn it into a scandal to get clicks. Things were simpler. It had nothing to do with social class or status or political slant and it still doesn't today.

Quite frankly if the Steelers or Cowboys (or any other team in any other of the four major sports) reeled off a run like the Pats over the last fifteen years, they wouldn't receive the love the teams from the 70s or 80s did. It doesn't work like that anymore. Boston being the town doesn't help because of the success of all our sports being so successful the last 15 years, our fans coming off as obnoxious, etc etc. but socio-economic self-association? Come on man. The people calling out in hate on the Pats aren't the type that still wistfully think of Pitt as a steel town. They're idiots watching hottakezzzz and those cross all genres.

I won't even touch the 'rampant anti-intellectualism' as that's like free cookies.
That's fair.

In my defense, I was drunk.

A pats win = Can't wait to hear about how they cheated and got someone to pull fire alarm. You know that's all tomlin will say. Annoying

I went out to breakfast this morning and all of the Steeler fans were beside themselves about this. I had a Patriots shirt on and I must have heard ten comments about cheating and pulling the fire alarm. One guy came up and shook his head at us and commented about how low we will go for a game. I had to laugh, people actually believe the team is behind this.

where I was last at
And we can be sure this will be mentioned at pre-game/ game -time, giving the Pats haters one more chip.

I happen to think it was Trump's first foray into special ops, but that's me.

Well, the standard is that if we don't see Tom Brady's phone, or if there is any mention of a loud noise, or something being pulled, or someone waking up during the night on any texts of people he's ever texted, then he might be generally aware that a fan might do something along those lines.

Another big aspect of today's game is whether we can successfully run play action on 1st down early. It will make their LBs have to think more instead of reacting instinctively to the run. Jaws ran an example of this on NFL Matchup show this morning from earlier in the year. It will make running on 1/10 easier later in the game.

Kraft knows why they all hate the Patriots: Jealousy, Envy, Stupidity.

“Sometimes, the league really messes up, and I think they really messed this up badly,” he said in a wide-ranging discussion in his Gillette Stadium office here. “But we’ve all agreed to subjugate our right to disrupt everything” — the Patriots declined to fight the league over financial penalties it levied on the team — “I mean, we can, but we’re a partnership. There’s jealousy, there’s envy, there’s stupidity. Sometimes, life is unfair, and you have to suck it up and move on and not use it as an excuse.”

I'd prefer to establish the run early and ho for the big play later.

All good, as so was I and I sincerely didn't mean to offend.
Hey, shit post is shit. It happens! Not your fault.

I appreciate the civility though. I opened the thread and saw that someone had responded and I got that eking "Oh no..." feeling as I remembers what I had written. So, yeah.

Craig Patrick: You're missing some of the best players.

Herb Brooks: I'm not looking for the best players, Craig. I'm looking for the right ones.
Catching up on this thread so this goes a ways back but....what a great quote. And perfectly apt for BB. I'm one of those who got a bit weak in the knees when Collins was dumped mid-season (post trading Jones etc). I told myself to trust in BB, but still couldn't shake the need for more athletic/talented players. But Brooks puts it just right, and it's been serving BB well for a long, long time. Maybe I should remember that.....

Not to reopen things but...
The rampant anti-intellectualism explains, in no small part, why an expansion team from a northeast college town will never be embraced the way the Steelers or Cowboys were.
Dean College and Stonehill College are in Franklin and Easton, not Foxboro. Or are you referring to all the colleges in that area? e.g. SETI, BSST, Massasoit CC, La Baron Hairdressing Academy, et al...

I was referring to Boston, generally.

Look, I'm sorry, it was a dumb post.

You know that ludicrous scene in Forrest Gump where Jen-nay's douche boyfriend hits her at the Black Pan-tha Par-Tay and then apologizes the next day by just going "It's...that bastard Nixon!" as if it was Tricky Dick's fault that he hit a woman? I'm just going to start blaming everything on Trump.

I'm sorry I made an obnoxious and poorly-conceived post. It's just I've got a lot on my mind and...THAT ASSHOLE TRUMP!

The vast majority of our country doesn't realize that the Patriots play 45 minutes outside the city. Not giving a shit about the facts kind of runs with these people. Gillette might as well be on Harvard's campus.

The fact that the TV broadcast returns from every commercial break with shots of the Boston skyline doesn't help with this.

Glad Atlanta is going to win and I know this is irrational Bill simmons level crap but I wish this game had been closer. If the Pats win though we might get a decent line because Atlanta has looked so great.
