In 2002 against the Angels, the other Fatman (39 years old) was punished and lost the deciding ALDS game. Tomorrow we will enjoy the abortion of the dynasty.

Joe is really going to fellate the Yankees down six runs? Really? I've come around on Buck on the whole but this is stupid bloviating at its worst.

The two-run single by Altuve in the third really loosened up the Astros. Now they look like the team they were all year.

Oh, and the double-play turn by Altuve in the first. Huge.

And the home run by Altuve in the eighth.

Awesome!

Now we just need to throw Reddick in the trash so Hinch can't bat him 2nd and we'll be all set for Game 7.

So McCullers, Morton, Gregerson, Liriano, and a weakened Giles? That ain’t gonna get it done.
I think Keuchel gets some middle innings, but what you get from that is a total wild card. Devenski seems demoted, don't trust Harris. This feels like a giant tease for tomorrow. Glad to see this tied up again, but I really do get a Game 5 vibe from the ALDS. None of these arms really stick out to you, especially when you consider the Yankees have SO many fresh arms they can rely upon. Much better built to withstand anything short of an immediate Houston rally.

depends on how many ad buys have already been made. I would think most of the advertising has already been sold

CC will set his value with this this start. He's had a solid season and will get a good offer, maybe even an overpay. But if he turns in a good or better outing, whether the Yankees move on or, he'll get a better contract. If he doesn't, it will just be whatever it was going to be going in.

I hope they bash his brains in.

This probably isn't true at all. One outing rarely if ever sets the value of anyone.

California. Duh.
The Astros being a former NL franchise cheapens it a bit.
The Astros and Dodgers are old NL West rivals from the days before the 3 division setup.

They actually met in a one game playoff to decide the division in 1980 (won by Houston) and in the strike-related Division Series in 1981 (won by LA, who went on to beat Montreal in the NLCS and the Yankees in the World Series).
