Rodriguez is a great return.

Sickels, in January: 3) Eduardo Rodriguez, LHP, Grade B: Velocity seems to rise a notch each year and he finished very strong in Double-A. He doesn’t turn 21 until April and I think he needs another year in the high minors, but he could become a mid-rotation starter.

I am more excited about #teamcorsi than I am about the trade.

This is a redemption story for the ages.

Rodriguez has been in AA the last 2 seasons. I suspect he'll head to AA Portland now, with Owens moving up to AAA Pawtucket.

I think 2014 has to be considered a success based on this development alone.

Eduardo Rodriguez. Not familiar. Have to look him up.

Thanks for sharing.  This really added to the discussion.

Just kidding, Yazzy.

peripherals look meh but he's young. and LHP
He doesn't have a MiL FIP under 4, outside of 4 innings in 2011. Doesn't give up a lot of HRs either. I'm psyched.

Rodriguez having a tough year in AA but he's only 21 and he was something like 60th in the preseason top 100

With all this stockpiling of high-minors pitching you have to think something big is gonna happen between now and next April.

We really don't have that big a stockpile of high-minors pitching any more, now that at least three of them are going to be in the big league rotation permanently.

He is a younger version of Escobar:

He would have been untouchable before he stalled (though still young) at a higher minor league level.  Despite this disappointment, he was still recently rated as their #3 prospect according to the opinion at the link above.  This just proves more that prospects are hugely overvalued in the market.

High ceiling prospect for a soon to be FA reliever looking at 4/16 payday.

This works.
For old time's sake I hope they asked Duquette to throw in a Catching prospect to sweeten the deal.

This deal sounds reasonable to me.  There's a much better chance of re-signing Miller (If they want him back) than Lester.

Alright alright.

Getting a chance to see some of the other links posted makes me feel pretty good about this. The seem to be intent on producing a couple of solid innings eaters from the farm to build around.
