Let’s keep this going.

Every day is better when the Sox win.

And we have the 2004 team celebration and Wakefield tribute. I hope MLBTV has it on its archived section (after the game.

If anyone knows if / where the celebration / Wake tribute is streaming, please let us know :)

Maybe I can get a free MLB.TV trial today...

Ah, the home opener---and I can't watch because I don't have cable and live in the O's home market despite being a 4 hour drive away.

Series 4: BALTIMORE vs SOX

As foretold by the ancients, “Midday shall turn dark,
‘fore the Red Sox return to faithful Fenway Park.”
After Monday’s madness, we have come home to play.
(All off days for the Red Sox feel dark anyway.)

T’was the world’s longest road trip, but we passed the test,
taking seven of ten in our journey out West,
wrapping up with the Angels out in Anaheim.
It’s an East Coast day game. (It’s about f@#K!ng time.)

Game one’s eight-six win might’ve cheered Red Sox nation,
if it had not led to Trevor’s subluxation.
We all love the man’s glove and the hits it can thwart.
It’s a sad Story now. Who the hell will play short?

Game two was a letdown. The Sox lost 2 to 1.
14 Ks. Just 3 hits. Absolutely no fun.
Our defensive deficiencies were a disgrace
with a stand-in shortstop and DH at third base.

In Sunday’s finale, the team got back on track
with a 12 to 2 win and a 12-hit attack.
The Sox hit 4 homers: Devers and McGuire,
Hamilton (His first!) and O’Neill (He’s on fire!)

Back in Boston, at last, as we welcome the O’s.
Bobby’s gone. Romy’s up. We will see how that goes.
During pre-game, we’ll honor the team from oh-four.
Relive those great memories then go make some more.

After an excellent road trip we come home to bad injury news and face the best team in the league. Yuck.
6-4 on this homestand would put us at 13-7, which would be an excellent start if we could get there. Winning a game against the O's when they have Burnes on the hill would be a big step toward making that happen.

Doesn't look like I can link to it directly, but there's a tribute to Wakefield video narrated by Terry Francona on the Red Sox homepage right now. I think it's new, for today. It's pretty dusty in here -- not just because of Wake, but because of the 2004 stuff. I cannot believe it has been 20 years. Hasn't really hit me until just right now.

That building (actually both) at Mass and Boyl is niiiiiice. I asked the construction guy what it was and he was the nicest guy ever. I told him I thought Commercial Real Estate was dead and he just gave me an Ortiz-sized smile and I thanked him for his work.

For those out of towners with the MLB TV package they have already started the pregame and you and you can rewind to the start until the game ends

Kevin Millar is in his element on MLB Network.

Looking forward to today’s ceremonies. The 2004 sox won the series during perhaps the most challenging personal and professional time in my life and I will always reference this time and this team when I face hardships in my life. I have tissues ready for Timmy’s part. My mom loved him and she passed in 2020.

Go Sox! Let’s play like it’s game four against the Yankees in 2004!!!

Can you grab FuboTV for a free trial?
Yeah, I know there are ways to watch, but I'm at work and propping the phone up while I worked on crap would've been ideal. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops.

Just thought it may be worth it for you for this series if you wanted to do that. Then you can prop your phone up.

Ortiz on the pregame show was, just, really fantastic to watch. What a person.

Definitely appreciate it. Just more of a general annoyance that I also won't really be able to watch a good young O's team all season either.

MLB blackout regions are so fucking dumb. I'm in NC and I'm blacked out from the Orioles, Nats, and Braves. I have zero of their RSNs.

That's awful. They really need to fix this. I'm happy I can see the Sox in Philadelphia, but I'm within a five-ish hour drive of Boston so you'd think they'd cut me off just because.

KC, St Louis, Dallas, Houston, Nashville.

I at least get the Dallas an St Louis stuff on Fubo at the times I find I have an extra $100 for the month (which isn't often), so that's nice, I guess.

Respectfully, I never want to experience that again.
Was it Joe Buck for nearly 6 hours? Or perhaps Fox showing close ups of fans in mid ass-clench nervousness? Or what it was for me: The overwhelming sense of “how will the Sox f this up in the most horrific way” Percolating all game?
