That's a nice haul. Phillips is an absolute toolshed and could be a Gomez-like player in CF if he develops fully. Santana has severe contact issues, but has 30 HR power, and like Phillips, he's also toolsy as hell with a big arm and good speed. Hader may or may not be a starter, I haven't been following him so I don't know if he's put on weight and shown more consistency than in years past, but his numbers in AA are pretty good this year. Houser's is kind of meh, but he's also an arm you wouldn't turn away. Plenty of upside in that package, and enough options that at least one or two guys should become something useful.

Man, this is one hell of a deadline week.

Seems like a pretty good deal for both sides, assuming Gomez's hip is a non-issue. That Astros lineup is going to be pretty fun to watch over the next few months.

Agree with dyno. Looks like a win-win. I think the deal makes more sense for the Astros than the Mets as well.
