Apparently I am focusing too closely on the Red Sox and their AL competition, and need to pay more attention to baseball in general. Who the !@#$ is Jacob deGrom? Sounds like some minor disciple of Rembrandt. "Pitching today for the New York Mets, Jacob deGrom the Younger.....deGrom is known for his backdoor slider, and also for his outstanding use of chiaroscuro."

Seattle fans are predictably going ballistic over this result, but don't the stats back up Kluber?
It's really fucking close. Kluber has the counting stats, Felix has the rate stats. I don't know how you could argue with either of them winning.
Upon initially hearing the results, I was pissed that none of Felix/Sale/Lester/Davis won it, but then I looked at Kluber's stats, and I'm ok with it.
Mike Trout finally wins the MVP after the worst year of his short career. Of course, during his worst season he still led the AL in WAR.

I don't know where else to put this, so feel free to move, but I was thinking about those graphics MLB broadcasts started showing on flyballs calculating how far a player went to record a fly out. I thought it would be cool to see a video or compilation of the 'most ground covered' catches but I have no idea where to find this. Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated.
