Brad Ausmus not fired after all

Per Detroit's local NBC news that I am watching now.  Al Avila wants a fresh start and his own guy.  Ilitch does not feel Ausmus is the guy that can bring a championship.  Several names being bandied but Ron Gardenhire is one of the names being considered.

I remember the playoff game last year where he took out Sanchez who looked good and brought in fat ass Chamberlin in a move that seemed destined for complete failure and fulfilled that expectation. 
 
I remember Playoff Tito.  It wasn't clear that there was a Playoff Ausmus.

Brad Ausmus is part of that fresh crop of managers we got in 2012 and 2013 who were rookie managers. Mike Matheny is sitting pretty but Robin Ventura should watch out.

I'm in suburban Detroit and the only one who is reporting this is Bernie Smilovitz at WDIV.  Ole Bern may have jumped the gun a bit here.  Ausmus is probably toast but not until the season is over.  Mr. Ilitch wants to win NOW.

Yeah I'm assuming that is the same report I gleaned it from.  Basically whoever the newscaster was after the Pats game since I just kept the TV on in the background.
