I know they played awfully poorly this season, but I don't know enough about hockey to make that much of an informed observation or opinion. All I know is that this team was consistently one of the best in hockey for about a 4-year period. Yeah, they sucked this year. But compare them to two other dominant teams: LA and Chicago.
LA
08-09: 79 pts, missed playoffs
09-10: 101 pts, lost in conference quarters (first round)
10-11: 98 pts, lost in conference quarters (first round)
11-12: 95 pts, won Stanley Cup
12-13: 59 pts, lost in conference finals (abbreviated year; on pace for 100 pts)
13-14: 100 pts, won Stanley Cup
14-15: 93 pts, missed playoffs
Chi

11-12: 101 pts, lost in conference quarters (first round)
12-13: 77 pts, won Stanley Cup (abbreviated year; on pace for 131 pts!)
13-14: 107 pts, lost in conference finals
14-15: 102 pts, made playoffs

I'd say that's a pretty nice run for the Bruins. I think they're allowed one bad year. But maybe they are losing their touch. Who knows?
