Yes, but Brady could have also handled it differently as well. There's a lot of contrast between how Drew Brees handled this and Tom Brady handled it. It seems like Brady was really trying to use the threat of going to another team to get Bill to show him some love, and I'd think he should know that's not how to get BB's respect. At the end of the day, it was a break-up between two very proud men who probably would have been better off together than apart.

Brady was like the guy who started as an intern and had worked his way up to C-suite exec, only the CEO continued treating him mostly the same way that he did when he was an intern. To Belichick, that was a feature and not a bug. For Brady, it was probably annoying.

I lost my job on Monday due to this virus mayhem. But this feels like the bigger gut punch of the two.

BB’s ego got in the way of this. Brady should’ve been afforded the opportunity to retire a Patriot.

Belichick is going to be gone in 2 or 3 years. THE RUN WAS FUCKING ENDING IF NOT ALREADY OVER. Who gives a shit how BB leaves the franchise? I truly don’t. However lengthy a rebuild was going to be, shoving Brady unceremoniously out the door isn’t going to make me feel happy when the team is back to being good in 2023 instead of 2024.
