Was going to post this in the Yankees get Byrd thread, before it was locked (just a rumor). 
 
Byrd was kind of off my radar after 2012.  So I looked him up again.

Guy starts to decline in 2010 at age 32.  He hits a wall in 2012 and gets suspended for PEDs that year.  
 
Since then, at the age of 35 and 36, he's turned in his best and second best offensive seasons (by wRC+) in his 11 year career.

Not sure if he'll get fired, but he did just get caught stealing a scoop without attribution.  Except that it turned out to be fake and he was exposed.

Jim Bowden panicked.

• He first deleted his twitter photo so @JimBowdenESPNxm had an egg avatar and looked fake.
• He then transferred his account to @JimBowdiv, perhaps thinking no one would find him? (His Marlon Byrd tweet is was still there.)
• His original, @JimBowdenESPNxm account was nuked, but it is now back—with 25 followers at press time. Someone is cybersquatting the account, is using Bowden's old avatar, and is following fake Joel Sherman and no one else.
• And just now, since I've been typing, @JimBowdiv has disappeared. We don't know where Jim Bowden went, and he's probably not going to receive the DMs we sent him. (Update: @JimBowdiv is back. For now. Here's a screengrab of his page, because he's a slippery Bowdiv. There's an updating thread in the comments below.)

Perhaps this entire subject should be moved to the media forum, but Jim Bowden is now claiming that his Twitter account was hacked. 
 
Yes, that must be it.  Because we all know that when people hack Twitter accounts, the first thing they do is to frame journalists for plagiarism.

Seems very similar.   A former productive guy gets stale, starts cheating, then gets caught. . .we'll have to see if Bowden parleys this into more exposure for himself.
