“Let’s not take anything away from Boston: They’ve been the best team in basketball all season long,” Spoelstra said. “They played very good basketball and probably had something to motivate them even more against us.

I will not watch one minute of their games, but they’ll probably do this to several teams from here on out. You could sense they wanted this to end right now and not let this get back to Miami. That’s a sign of a mature team.”

I saw the clip just now on Twitter: he was really really complimentary of Boston, no injury excuses. I think he was more saying that he wants a break from the NBA in general now that Miami is eliminated, which is...understandable?

He'll be back with Jrue and Tatum on Team USA in just 2 months, so I can understand detoxing from basketball a bit before then.

How about this one:
In the four Celtics wins, the Heat scored more than 24 points in 3 quarters (1 in each of Games 1, 3, 4 and none last night), and only scored 30 or more in one quarter (the 4th in G1).
In their four losses, the Heat averaged 87.5 points per game (94, 84, 88, 84). Even including their win (111 points), they averaged 92.2 points for the series.

The 30th-ranked (bottom) offense of the season, Memphis, scored 105.8 points per game this season.

The last time a team finished under 100 points per game on the season was the 2017-18 Sacramento Kings (98.8).
The last time a team finished under 95 points per game on the season was the 2014-15 NY Knicks (91.9).
The last time a team finished under 90 points per game on the season was the 2011-12 Charlotte Bobcats (87.0).

And those were all the worst teams in the league, not the defending conference champion in the playoffs.

Dean Wade better find his rabbit's foot, and quickly.

Good point. Hard to believe it’s only 2 months away.

I know the playoffs are still going on but given all of our worries about the C's clutch time execution, I thought I'd check out how the Cs are doing statistically.

And wouldn't you know it, BOS is nowhere to be found if one looks at the top 10 for ORtg, DRtg, NetRtg, or any other stat.

Or clutch time minutes played - BOS has 0.0 clutch time minutes so far.

(And just in case anyone is interested, LAC is 1st in ORtg with 176.9 in 7 minutes; OKC is 1st in DRtg at 53.8 in 6 minutes, and MIN is 1st in NetRtg with +57.5 in 3 minutes. Small sample sizes indeed.)
